🏈 Underdog picks-Week 1

Yeah, I think LSU has got way too much for Washington. When Locker is healthy he's a very good QB, and I like his game. But I just don't see Jake Locker beating LSU on his own, which is what it would probably take.

Nothing outside a BAMA victory this weekend would make me happier than to see Nevada upset the Dome. For one thing, I kinda like Nevada. They're one of those schools in "smaller" conference that I always tend to root for. Secondly,.......I hate Notre Dame.

I'm not really sure what Nevada has this year outside of Keapernick, but I suspect Nevada will have to beat the Irish by playing typical WAC football. That means they'll have to score 50 points and hopefully win by 1 or 2. I doubt they have the defense to win a low-scoring contest, or even one in the 20's. If the Wolf Pack shows up to play and Keapernick goes off, it could end badly for the Irish.

Guess I should have made it more clear that none of my picks were saying the underdog would win, although I do think LaTech and Nevada will. I certainly did not mean to indicate I thought UW would beat LSU.

I posted this on 7/20 regarding Nevada:

"This is the non-BCS league team you have to watch this year. Quarterback Colin Kaepernick is one of the nation's most exciting playmakers and should make some national noise if he plays as well as expected against the Irish. There are more than enough weapons to put up some ridiculous numbers as this appears to be the year when it should all come together and Nevada has its best season yet since Ault returned to coach the team."

Interesting inasmuch as they open at ND. Fatboy may start out 0-1 with that "easy" schedule.

By the way, the Prediction line for 2009 should read "Coming!" and not 8-4. The 8-4 obviously pertains to their 2008 predictions.
