I’ve not been keeping up with most of Kirby’s goings on but I thought that he had a supposedly very good replacement for Fromm. He may vey well be running off another QB in his system. Constantly churning with transfer QB’s. Supposedly with 3 years to play ol’ kirbs may run off a couple but at least one Ithink.

USC QB XFER 2 UGA

Jamie Newman from Wake is a grad transfer, so he can play this season. JT Daniels is looking at a year sitting out... So It does make sense in the timing aspect.

The QB Shuffle is a tough one to judge. Just a different market than every other position in CF. Boom or Bust, I can't blame him for trying... But it does look a little desperate for a program that has certainly signed big time QBs

VERY interesting move by Curbee, especially since he has the #2 quarterback in five star Brock Vandagriff committed after he decommited from Oklahoma. And he's five minutes from Athens at Prince Avenue. These guys are going to learn quick that Curbs doesn't care about them and will sacrifice them for anything better.

In Kirby's defense... If he thinks the transfer will make them better, shouldn't he do this?

Ultimately if a Coach really cares about ALL of the individuals on the team, he will make the tough personnel decisions to win as many games as possible. CNS Brought in Coker in that same vein (Can't remember which QB's we had recruited or signed, but assuming some good ones).

I understand what you're saying, and to a big extent I agree. Whatever is best for the team. BUT we have heard about Kirbs promising this and that and it not coming to fruition. Look at a number of guys that have left the program, big time guys. You kind of wonder what he was trying to do, because you rarely see to five star quarterbacks on the same roster anymore.

Coker was brought in because we didn't have a guy stepping up. Atleast in my mind, and Saban knew that. Kurbee doesn't know what he has in Daniels or Vandagriff, on top of Carson Beck coming in this Fall. Just sounds like more potential problems in my mind. Quarterback has a big bust factor, but in this day and age you don't upset your premium position and top recruits.

Saban does very similar things. Competition is good for a team. Iron sharpens Iron. You want people in your program that want to compete. Zero issues with Smart bringing in talent and saying may the best man win and that is whoever gives the team the best chance to win.

Understand that you want the best there is available to win for your players....but, if I am a 5-star #1 in the nation quarterback, I am going to look hard at Kirby's habits when he is recruiting me

They are going to recruit the best QB they can get every single year... we do too. Does it matter if it's through Grad Transfer or not? UGA doesn't have a QB returning. It's an open seat. It's a competition for the spot. If you don't want to compete... move along to a different program... at least here at UA that's our thought process. If you're in incoming FR top QB recruit, do you expect the coach to NOT recruit top QB talent for 3/4 years so you get an easy road to start? It's just not how this thing works.

I'm not so sure Kirbee is giving these recruits the Saban speech like the one given to Julio. I think he is misleading them with the promise of playing time right off the bat over competition. Eason took off (even though he was a Richt recruit), Fields, Brenton Cox, Otis Reese, and others.

If they can’t figure it out for themselves... they ain’t smart enough to play QB.
