UGA football player arrested, facing multiple charges

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A University of Georgia player is facing charges after getting arrested Sunday, jail records show.

According to Jackson County Jail records, Nyier Daniels faces four felony counts, including fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, affixing materials that reduce or increase light transmission/reflectance of window, and two counts of second degree cruelty to children.

Additional misdemeanor charges include reckless driving, exceeding maximum limits, two stop-sign and yield-sign violations, no-passing-zone infractions and more.

“We are aware of the charges and are currently in the process of gathering additional information,” a statement from UGA read. “This is a pending legal matter and we will not have further comment at this time.”

Daniels is a redshirt freshman offensive lineman and was a 4-star at Bergen Catholic before coming to UGA. This is the latest of vehicle-related arrests involving Bulldogs players over the past several years.

This is a developing story. Check back with Atlanta News First for updates.

That bold I did about the kids that what is wrong! Horse whipping isn't good enough for that!!

I know every person is entitled to due process under the law BUT if a person abuses a child in any shape form or fashion, there is not a hot enough place in you know where for these people.

Why is it that nothing shocks me anymore? Sad for me to feel this way.

When I can, I am going to share something that I have been and am dealing with in school this year. It breaks my heart and I have cried more in the last week than I have in a very long time. I ask all of you that will to remember a 12 year old boy by the initials of RS in your prayers. Hug your kids and grandkids extra tight and tell them you love them.
