The University of Alabama gymnastics team remained No.5 in the national rankings following a win over rival Georgia last Friday. With the seventh week of the season, rankings are tabulated according to regional qualifying score from this point forward. RQS is calculated by taking a team's or individuals's six highest scoring meets, eliminating the top performance, and averaging the remaining five. Alabama's score of 197.65 - its highest road score of the season- pulled its RQS up to 197.055. The Crimson Tide is ranked behind Oklahoma, LSU, Florida and Utah.

Alabama is ranked in the top 10 on every apparatus this week. On uneven bars, the team moved up two spots to eighth. Junior Lauren Beers is the fifth ranked individual on the event with an RQS of 9.895. Beers posted a season-high 9.95 on uneven bars at Georgia.

Alabama held steady at No. 6 on balance beam with an RQS of 49.09. Sophomore Keely McNeer is Alabama's leader on beam with an RQS of 9.855, eighteenth best in the country.

The Crimson Tide also saw no movement in its vault ranking, coming in at fifth for the third consecutive week. At No. 14, senior Kayla Williams is Alabama's top ranked vaulter.

On floor exercise, Alabama slipped one spot to third despite posting a season high 49.525 against UGA. Junior Carley Sims is Alabama's leader on floor with an RQS of 9.89, good for 15th nationally.

Alabama will host No. 2 LSU on Friday. According to Alabama coach Dana Duckworth, sophomore Katie Bailey is still unavailable with back spasms and sophomore Dominique Pegg is questionable with a calf strain.
