🏈 Tyrell Shavers in the transfer portal.

Cannot blame him one bit. From everything I understand, good kid that worked hard but just happened to be at UA with possibly some of the best receiving competition in NCAA history. Even this year he's looking at being the #4... Tough pill to swallow for a really talented player who has done a lot right.

We don't see too many of these guys move on and kick ass, but I will enjoy seeing him get his opportunity. He's got the physical tools to be a legit draft pick!

From my understanding, he has all the physical traits but inability to run the route tree.
A few years ago we all discussed how well Bama moved the ball between the 20's but stalled in the RZ when they played Clemson. Shavers fits that in the opposite sense.

You probably recall hearing about how Mac and Shavers did well against the 1's when they were both on the scout team. Locks, a BIG Shavers fans, felt he was going to be a heck of a threat in the RZ.

See that? A guy that didn't do well between the 20's but ...

I've seen rumors of Baylor but wouldn't be shocked to see Maryland.

One important note here. Tyrell is a grad transfer.

I respect any kid who makes the academic effort and graduates. With that, they can do whatever they want. I think he still has two years of eligibility left. I'd love to see him stay, but it will depend on what other coaches promise him.

I see he chose Mississippi State. He'll have a veteran quarterback throwing to him, so hopefully he does well. Wonder what he thinks when he comes back to Tuscaloosa this Fall and gets that defense he's been scrimmaging against.
