šŸˆ Trouble in Trojan land: Sark fired

Well, Sark is terminated.

"After careful consideration of what is in the best interest of the university and our student-athletes, I have made the decision to terminate Steve Sarkisian, effective immediately.

"I want to thank Clay Helton for stepping into the interim head coach role, and I want to add how proud I am of our coaching staff and players and the way they are responding to this difficult situation.
"Through all of this we remain concerned for Steve and hope that it will give him the opportunity to focus on his personal well being."

I detest Texas and USC; and most of me is enjoying seeing them struggle; but its scary thinking about how long 1 bad hire..or a coach who stays too long can bring your program down. A time will come when we will be hiring a new football coach. Just hope its the spot on totally correct choice that we made this past time.

I am sorry but he deserves it. We talk about these kids how they do something stupid and get kicked out of school ....and we say, "God! How can these kids blow such a huge opportunity!" Well I say......same applies to these coaches...drinking is a choice.....it can be an addiction but everytime you drink you make a choice to drink. He should have realized the great opportunity he has....and he blew it.

I don't think you understand addiction. He knew he had an issue with drinking, he was told to take steps to address it and he failed. He, and USC, shouldn't have tried to allow him to continue coaching while he sought treatment. Treating any addiction is not a part time activity.

I agree @ OldPlayer, it's not part time to quit but my dad did it. He found Jesus and quit in one day. I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it, but I did. It's not typical though. Prayers for Sark.
