🏈 Trent Richardson Finishes Third In Heisman Voting---Give Me A Break

Ashamed he wasn't more supported by the South.

Yeah, that doesn't make sense. I think a lot of it is anti-Bama sentiment, and jealousy because of how dominant Bama and LSU have been this year. They are BY FAR the best teams in the south for 2011, and they opened up a can on a lot of teams. It looked like a backlash by immature people.

The part about the South I thought was actually a little funny. It seemed that the South was the only "unbiased" set of voters out there. RGIII had a great season and deserved the Heisman. I do agree that Trent should have been second.

Well, look geographically where the schools are located. Tyrann Mathineu and Trent Richardson comprise the Southern voters, RGIII is the lone person in the southwest, and Luck is the lone person in the west coast area. Ball controls the midwest area and the east coast is able to vote freely. Sadly Trent split a few with Tyrann Mathineu while RGIII and Luck took home almost all of the voters in their region. Couple that with a spiteful Midwest region who doesn't wish to see the SEC in the big game and take the big trophy as well as Eastern voters who'll mostly just go with ESPN's choice (RGIII) and you've got a winner. I predicted as much, though I also thought TR would edge Luck for 2nd place.

Anyways, Alabama supports "team first" football and I'm sure they'd all trade in their awards to be able to share the crystal ball with the rest of the team.

I would have loved to see Trent win it, but I don't have a problem with RGIII getting it. The guy was well deserving of the award.

Look at it like this. Take TR off of Alabama's team, and they still win a lot of games. Maybe not as many, but still a bunch. Take RGIII off of Baylor's team and they might not have won a game.

I thought he had it locked after he throttled us. I didn't think an extra game would help RG3 that much. It's difficult to argue RG3 and to be honest I thought he should've won it but based on Trent's final game and Bama's status I figured it was his. Mathieu hurt him and RG3 getting more South votes.

Luck was 2nd based on preseason hype. He was non-existent when they needed him the most. He fell on his face in big moments. Sure SEC defenses were garbage this year, so were Pac-12 teams. My honest ballot:

RG3, Trent, Ball, Luck--yes I'd leave Honey Badger off.

My gut told me: Trent, RG3, Luck, Ball
