It seems to me, maybe he should expand his horizons other than the SEC.. go somewhere where he can be a major contributor…a star player..

I've been seeing this in the news and I am wondering: isn't it still illegal to tamper with a kid who's not in the portal yet? How are these teams getting away with blatantly recruiting other team's rosters? And why won't DeBoer do the same thing? If the rules are suspended and there is no honor or loyalty in college football, then Bama should be recruiting these rosters to get their best players. This is ridiculous.

Teams put out that they’re looking for a specific position. Agents call and work the system. Some of these are real and some are just trying to get more $$ out of the currrnt team. It’s all silly.

Nick and staff did a shitty job evaluating that player. He didn't just come to Bama and decide to be a blinking light. Same for Tony Mitchell at Thompson.

There's no real enforcement arm to control the tampering. It's just a different structure than NFL, where things like that can significantly bite a team in the ass if caught. But there's also 1000 ways to "tamper" and 999 of them are in the gray areas. Bama has adjusted to it some, they landed a player in the portal last month that they knew they were getting before he entered the portal. There are others that were reached out to, or vise versa, in some way that were also not officially in the portal at the time.
