šŸˆ Todd Gurley suspended

A side story that has relevance to Gurley...

UGA is appearing before the Committee on Infractions today on the Level I charge with the swimming coach. I mention that here because the possibility of the repeat violator clause being used with Gurley still being investigated.

I caught the other day some of the ex-swim athletes are pissed that the coach isn't getting the same support that Gurley is getting internally. They are giving feedback to the administration too.

Ill-informed ex-swimmers? As I see it there's only one thing the two have in common; extra benefits being the allegation. IE: It's within the NCAA rules for UGA to hire independent counsel for an athlete and I don't believe the same latitude is given for staff.

In the piece written by Goodstone, did you notice this line?

". ..Had this action been brought for a student and not a ā€œstudent-athleteā€, over which the almighty NCAA asserts its dominion, none of this would be seen as an ā€œimproper benefitā€.

Totally missing the big picture here, isn't she? Answer this, who is going to go to the professor and ask for the same for a "regular student?" I certainly can't think of anyone.

@TerryP, do you believe Chip?
Chip doesn't have the track record of a guy like Carvell when it comes to towing the line; to my recollection, at least. He's not someone I've closely followed so my impression is certainly up for debate.

When I read Feldman's tweet my first thought was what he was hearing wasn't related to the ex-swimmers or some open letter to the UGA admin.

We've seen a lot of people try to compare and contrast the way UGA is handling the Gurley story versus the way FSU is handling Winston. While the storylines are related, the two stories are very different. The pessimist in me wonders if there are members of the UGA administration that wonder why they aren't handling Gurley in the same fashion FSU is handling Winston and there's the root of the struggle Feldman mentions.
