šŸˆ To those who supported CFP expansion & are now outraged by the path it's taken... Serious question: What did you expect?

Geeze. Sec is not acc ....leave acc teams alone. Give them back USCe...
As far as that goes. ...give big 12 back Texas/ Arkansas/ AnM...n fucking missouri

We had a damn good conference without them

This reminds me of Spruill Avenue in old North Charleston...a lot of holes to poke here, and there.

Curious, do you know how many years since UofSC was in the ACC? They spent two decades as an independent before joining the SEC.

Didnt they....in late 60s. Have a great bball team...but lost ACC tournament....thus not making NCAA tournament.... got mad and got out of ACC....few years later

Remember something like that. From a guy i was in service with...big USCe fan..
Dont remember any more than that...and that is sketchy

UoSC voted to leave the conference for other reasons. They felt it was ran by the "Tobacco Road" crowd. Scheduling, same crowd. They felt they could do better financially because they were held back...by the TR crowd.

This also marked the beginning of the persona the ACC doned with "we're academic." A new rule with a required SAT score took a lot of talent off the board.

A modern day analogy is UofSC looked at the ACC the same way we just saw the Aggies look at the Big12.

I know. But still had great conference before they came aboard
How were they in a good conference when they were being shut out of everything conference related? FTBL was still their "money maker" and they were recording more .500 seasons than anything. We're going all the way through 10 games per season up to 12...and they still only won seven games as their best seasons.

In my opinion, the best run UofSC has had in its history sort of revolves around Ray Tanner (thought it was McGee and Holtz that brought in SOS.)

I agree. Times were different then.

Take UofSC for one example here. The addition of that program and the market in brought to the conference in the early 90's led to the opening up of NC and the DMV.

While Arkansas hasn't brought hardware in football, they brought rings in basketball, baseball, T&F, and other sports to the SEC trophy cases.

While I "hated" him, I loved Nolan in the SEC.

"40 minutes of hell"

Sankey threw some "shots across the bow" yesterday at the B1G and other conferences. It was a simple message; this is how good our teams are top to bottom versus you other guys.

In my opinion this was a "two-parter." One, against the notion of all the AQ's (4/4/2/2.) And two, a shot at the conference who is behind all the desire to have four AQ's: the B1G.

You see why I'm thinking they are headed to the 11 invitation model with the conference champs and highest ranked "also ran?"

Get to be nothing but "super bowl games" if they dont watch out...
