🏈 TIL-- A&M feels Alabama is their rival.

As far as stakes and big games go, LSU has become Alabama’s biggest rival.
In the last decade here were a few of years I'd agree with people who said LSU was the biggest game on the schedule--2011 and 2012 come the closest. That still doesn't equate with rival in my eyes. When we get to '13 Bama was looking at a two loss team in LSU before they met. It wasn't a great season for Bama in '13 and LSU was out of it by the time the two met.

It's funny--or sad maybe--that even though Auburn has been playing @ .500 ball in conference play they've still be more of a rival for the SEC title than LSU.

LSU feels they are a rival; no doubt. To me, they are still below three other SEC teams--maybe four.

Shake it anyway and as much as you want...
Auburn is our #1 rival...the Iron bowl....the state of Alabama shuts down for those few hours....period...has been since I followed Football....and still is...
Some fans may have personal rivals...as #1....but bubba....its AU...
Tennessee is a very close second... which probably was Bears favorite team to beat...
But if you are a HC at Bama...you better beat AU...and consistently....period

I think all of this is mainly a naive recruit that hasn't caught up with his own tradition. Closest thing A&M will get to a real natural rivalry has been LSU. Close proximity, a contentious past, shared recruiting ground and there you go. The fact that the Tigers have owned the Aggies since they put their feet on SEC land has to be an extra thorn in their side.

With Jimbo there now i believe they will again be relevant moving forward. They are not our rival yet. Personally I feel UGA has passed auburn as a real Rival. We have played many times in the last few years and now with Kirby there it makes it that much more of a fight. Until auburn gets back to being consistently better I still hate them but they don't measure up to being a real rival in my mind. Every few years luck up and beat us but UGA to me is more of a real rival and challenge consistently than auburn.

For me it is 10rc. As I've said before I lived up there when Majors/Fulmer ended/began. I really wanted to cut one of their fans and see if they did indeed bleed orange. I have several kin folks who are 10rc fans and that also helps the rivalry. My brother who is 3 yrs younger than me is a diehard utk fan. For about 10 yrs we literally could not watch or listen to the game together as we would end up in a fight.
