Former Chaminade guard Christophe Varidel is transferring to Alabama, ESPN’s Jeff Goodman reported Friday night.

At 6-foot-3 and 172 pounds, Varidel averaged 19 points and four rebounds while playing 33 minutes a game. He began his career at Florida Gulf Coast.

I've been of the opinion that one of the keys to Grant's style of offense is to have two guards that are legitimate scoring threats. When we've had good production out of two guys in the backcourt the majority of the time we've won. As example, when we've seen Coop have a strong game in the backcourt, we've had good offensive production.

I didn't like the idea of transfers leading to Grant moving Coop to the front court. But, with the addition of Veridel I'm a bit more comfortable with that notion.
