🏈 Through week 5: Who is college football's biggest disappointment? Who is college football's biggest surprise?

I knew CLF and his Bearcats would be good but I never dreamed they would be undefeated at this point in the season. They still have a long road ahead of them. I am happy for Fickell bc just about all you hear up here is Ohio St.
Mike, where did you see the loss coming from?

Agree 100%. He is scared to hire really good coordinators because he is afraid to have someone who might be better than him under him.
Maybe his real concern is that he'll have to face what coach Saban does almost every year....having to replace the really good ones because they are now head coaching somewhere or have gone to the NFL. And STILL maintain an elite-level program.

There's a lot of "Tuberville's BBQ boys" in that group (forgive the analogy.)

The only loss I thought we might see would be Notre Dame and look how they've played this season. Some have said "watch out for UCF." Then there's #24 SMU which I seriously doubt can keep up.

I honestly thought they could lose any of the following;
Indiana
nd
Central Florida
Southern Methodist

To there credit they won the first two games and I am happy for them. It is so hard to go undefeated in a season. If they run the table, IMO, they deserve a shot in the playoffs with the way this season has gone so far.

When it comes to the offense, he HAD good coordinators. Under Elliot, he doesn't.

Then explain his hires when there were better options out there.

This is all about Dabo and to me you're choosing to refuse to see him for what he is: it's all a facade.
Lol...

You may have thought there was better options....he didnt...now who is more knowledgeable as to needs of clemson football...u or dabo?

Elliot....was thought of enough to be in running..or even offered...Tennessee job...
You dont think Venerables is a good assistant? REALLY!
Couple others on there pretty well thought of...Bates....McCorvey...etc

They have steered clemson to same number of playoffs appearances as NS..
More than any other staffs...in CF....and 2 NCs... pretty good i think

I really don’t know what you find so "facade- ing” about Dabo...and he brought Clemson from the mediocres......looks like he has fun...recruiting is great...
Great job...Dabo

Dabo is not the man you believe him to be. His story, as a walk-on to a scholarshipped player, to a GA to an assistant coach at Alabama is a good story. And that's where it ends; a good story.

His act, however good you believe it to be, has grown tiresome.

Follow the bouncing ball...
Walk on...to..GA....to...assistant coach at bama...to assistant coach at Clemson...to head coach at Clemson...to National champion coach at Clemson...

I agree...i am tired of him beating bama and taking 2 of our NCs....

Venables? What part of the offense does he coordianate?

Todd Bates? Are you serious? He's the guy that's been pumping suplements into their program which your boy, Dabo, said they got from shampoo. Shampoo. There's an example of his facade being a sham when you see the good ole boy lying to the press.

McCorvey? The smartest thing DuBose did was send him on his way. And that's when he got pissed off. After a year he joins Fulmer and you see what influence that did to him from his time at Miss St. with Croom trying to damage Bama. Where do you think he learned that?

He's just like Tuberville. He's just like Shula. He's just like Les Miles for that matter. He keeps "yes" men around him.

The success Clemson had on offense is why we saw them contending. A great defense, thanks to BV, doesn't get it done in these days. Their offense was known as WRU due to Chad Morris and his influence. It continued under Jeff Scott. But, as soon as they leave and it's left up to Elliott? Crash and burn.

You actually watched a video demonstrating Dabo's self-centeredness and tried to claim it wasn't about him all the while the only one running down the hill was? Him.

I get it. You like Dabo. I'm just trying to warn you he ain't all that. No pun intended but if you were about to eat rat poison I'd try to warn you as well.

"Follow the bouncing ball." A take off a cartoon/story from 1947 just like Dabo's has his story. It's a good story, both of them are, and it ends there.

I'm tired of Dabo's act. It's an act, pure and simple. Him being a goodball? That's no act. He is.

I like the word facade. He claims his moral high ground on which he can't stand.

I appreciate what he brings to the game of football. I appreciate what Lane Kiffin brought to Bama and to colllege football. On the field. In several ways the two are similar.

Gotta say, you mentioning Todd Bates gave me a good laugh.

Thanks for offering to warn me....

Elliot was there last-year
...didnt crash aand burn....made it to playoffs ( now unless you consider every team that doesn't win a NC crashing and burning....which is ridiculous...)
Elliot: 2017 A-COY
Not all on one guy....for sure

You were talking of assistances...thats where venerables came in.....

Yep...i do like dabo...you..obviously do not.....
He is....everything...that his record says he is...plus a decent guy....plus a bama man... 2 playoffNCs...5-6 appearances...
Only nick has better...
