🏈 This Makes The Top 3 Teams In The BCS.....

If 'Bama wins out, 'Bama will play in the NC game. Period.

Look at it like this, if LSU goes undefeated, their strength of competition ('Bama's only loss) will keep us at #2.

OR

IF (Big IF) LSU loses to the piggies, then 'Bama goes to the SECCG, wins out, then plays for the NC game.

The stars have aligned, 'Bama has it all in our palm with one, maybe two teams in the way. ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

It's mind boggling all of these teams going down this weekend. I don't think it's likely, but the last possible threat to Bama's return to the NC game (other than aubrun, of course) is OK State. Hopefully the dirt burglars will take care of that for us.

We still wouldn't be in ATL.

Would love to know the "why" behind your thoughts.

Should ARK beat LSU the BCS ranking that follows determines the SEC West champ. In that ranking, the only way that Bama goes to Atlanta is if LSU is ranked #3 among BAMA, ARK, and LSU.

If Bama is #1 and ARK is #2, BAMA wins.
If ARK is #1 and Bama is #2, BAMA wins. (by winning the head-to-head)

If LSU is #1, LSU wins.
If Bama is #1 and LSU is #2, LSU wins. (by winning the head-to-head)

If Ark is #1 and LSU is #2, ARK wins. (by winning the head-to-head)

I disagree with Terry. Based on the current formula, if Arkansas beats LSU and even jumps us in the BCS, we would go to the SEC Championship unless LSU doesn't fall behind Arkansas somehow and we remain the only team above LSU. Seems highly unlikely in that scenario.

If Arkansas beats LSU then its a 3 way tie in the west the determination is BCS rank, unless there are less than 5 spots between the teams.. then it goes head to head so IN order for Bama to be in Atlanta LSU would have to drop to at least #6 or #7.

Unless Arkansas is closer to Alabama (Alabama being the highest ranked among the three) then the head-to-head will go to Arkansas vs Alabama and we will win.

LSU wouldn't be a problem.

There was a huge discussion about this three-way-tie a few days ago on here.

I don't think that is the case According to how the top 3 were ranked lets say Ark #1 Bama#2 LSU #3...LSU would be dropped then head to head would be used for #1 and #2...which would be Bama. Then we go to Atlanta but I'm not willing to think that they put LSU at #3 unless Ark absolutely destroys them.

I don't see how LSU could be conceivably ranked higher than Arkansas if they lose to the piggies AND they wouldn't be ranked higher than 'Bama either unless they lost by one point to the pigs. EVEN THEN they BCS would penalize LSU more b/c they lost to the #3 team & not the #1 team like 'Bama, so I am not worried at all if the piggies win.

CRAZY..... No Matter What....(Unless The West Champ Loses In The Championship Game) THE SEC WILL MAKE IT TO A 6th National Championship Game

Interestingly assuming LSU beats Arkansas, LSU and Alabama would be so far ahead of everyone else that even if LSU lost in the SECCG they would still likely play in the BCSNCG.

If that happens Georgia could win the SEC but be relegated to a non-BCS bowl game.
