Before anyone could even ask him afterward, Saban brought up his late-game displeasure. "I know everybody's probably going to say, 'Well, you got upset with the backup players.' I got upset with the backup players because they're better than that," Saban said. "They know they're better than that. They need to play with poise and confidence when they go in the game and compete just like everybody else competes. That's about being able to execute and do your job. It's not about shutting anybody out. It's not about any of that. We're trying to get our players to play their best in every regard."

He want to shut everybody out not just to win the game. I wonder if he go over and sit at Coach Bryant desk and get some of his mojo? Just a thought.

The announcers for the game last night thankfully understood what Saban was/is doing. It's part of what separates Alabama football from anyone else in the country.

Can we be beaten? Sure, any team can. We are not immune to a loss any more than any team in the country. Well maybe except the Barn as they couldn't shoot themselves out of a wet paper sack. But it starts with playing to a level that can't be replicated or reproduced by any other team in the country. That's because they don't have a coach as driven for excellence like we do. Sure you'll hear other coaches trying to copy what Saban. Words or phrases like "process", "finish", "do your job" seem to be used within the media by outside coaches. They try to emulate some aspect of what we strive to do here. But it won't happen as they don't have Saban. He is the master of it and he demands it no matter the score, the quality of opponent or the circumstances. I am so glad we have a coach (again) who understands that coaching does not ever stop if you truly live, eat and breath coaching. Meanwhile across the field Mullen just laughs it off, as that's really all he could do.

When the backups get their shot in the game they need to understand that it's their time to shine. Just because they are in as mop up duty does not mean they should play at 80%. You never know when your starting player may go down due to an injury Eire in the game or during the week in practice. So they need to take that role seriously if they are really called upon to play more than just the closing minutes of the game. They played pretty well in the Arky game but since then you can definitely tell the attitude on the field dialed back several notches. It should look like fresh legs when we rotate in the backups but as of late a few have looked like fresh meat.

Saban will get it addressed. We are in great hands!

Oh and he may get pissed too but i swear sometimes Muschamp looks like he wants to punch their skulls in..

Muschamp: "....you bet your ass they're going to score now."

And, they did.

How did you figure that out? That's exactly what he's saying. Hilarious.

And yeah, Mullen looked like a total little baby on Saturday. Costing your team yards because of your antics is about the worst thing a coach can do IMO. My new fave, as far as SEC coach reactions go (now that the OBC has calmed down of course), is probably Hugh Freeze. I just love watching him every time a flag is thrown on them. No matter what, it's that little arm wave/wrist bend with the clipboard and a super obnoxious eye roll.

What did the player do that provoked that from Muschamp?

Unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

Both coaches were told during the game the refs were going to start tossing flags—which they did—and would start tossing players if they didn't get their players under control.

Over the last decade I've had vested interest in a few bars. Due to having to talk to people in that environment you get a knack for reading lips. When you watch it, you can see it. I left off the first part due to what he was saying. The use of GD doesn't rank highly in my book and I'm not one to criticize anyone when it comes to the use of profanity.

What was shocking to me was him appearing to say "God D YOU" the second time as opposed to "IT" the first time.

Why is it every time these 2 teams get together you see all these unsportsman like penalties? I dont remember seeing this in other big rivalry games like the Iron Bowl for instance.

I wouldn't mind seeing a player go "sprewell" on Muschamp - just to see how he would respond...to be a fly on the wall in that room :)

Also, this might sound as if I support this type of behavior from a player, I don't.
