UGA signs more 5 Stars than Bama but Bama’s go in the 1st Round by a large margin over the pups … and everyone else for that matter. Whoever says player development doesn’t matter with 5 Stars isn’t paying attention.

In theory you're right... Since Saban has won more titles than any coach, he should probably have ALL the 5 stars.... :cool:

Kidding aside - Just saying they ain't chop liver. There is good football outside of Alabama, and some elite high school kids are attracted to different challenges. The fact that they made the playoffs is an obvious reason that some of those elite players made a decent decision to go there.

An assumption being made is that Bama had the need and numbers to take all of the 5 stars. I am sure we missed on some but in others may not recruited. We can't bring in all 32 5 stars :) .

Thanks to the transfer portal and that extra year of eligibility. Without that they lose multiple games this year. Even with the portal they would lose hadn't Jordan Davis came back. We showed what happens when they can't stop the run up the middle. Adam Anderson, Nolan Smith, Quay Walker, Beal, Brenton Cox transferred out, so just a lot of guys that never lived up to their ranking. Offensive guys like Daniels, Zeus, Clay Webb, Cade Mays transferred, Salyer not being as good, have all shown they aren't doing much on offense either. Welcome to the Capital City, where five star dreams come to die...

I agree with that. I'm just stating that even with all those five stars that teams find help elsewhere and kids aren't coming to Georgia just because other five stars are on the roster, but that it also can't be development because most of them have not played to their rankings (which were very high).

Georgia has recruited top classes, but they haven't performed like it. Ohio State, Alabama, Clemson, and to a far extent (offensively) Oklahoma have utilized their talent the best as they are main stays at the top. Georgia is no different than Notre Dame to me at the moment, and probably not even to that level at the moment. If Georgia was in another conference? Yes, they may have more Playoff appearances, but they have also shown they'll drop a game to a much lesser opponent, so who really knows. Unfortunately their measuring stick is Alabama, which has really spoiled their "success" the last ten years.
 
So no one should be surprised that the GOAT can get talent to Tuscaloosa. The portal just gave him another opportunity to pick and choose to take care of immediate needs for a particular year.

Pretty sure that is every teams measuring stick and the puppies have not faired any worse than most other teams. The only difference is they THINK they are Bama but they are not but no one is.
