paying for some goods at the one between Chattanooga and Atlanta.
Me: This is the largest convenience store Iāve ever been in
Checkout Worker (in angry loud voice): What part of this is convenient! This is worlds largest travel center!
Me: Swiped my card and walked off.
That is awesome. I was there the day before on my day off. First trip. I guess I had built up my expectations and it fell a little short for me . Would have been great to have been there when the team was there.
All I had heard was about Buckees this and Buckees that so I had high expectations. They were not met. The brisket was ok but nothing special at least to me.
I watch that one being build, as I was taking our granddaughter to Brookwood while her new born was in the NICU. Sometime I would pass it four time a day.
Don't forget the pecan logs. I think they're like fruitcakes, not sure any Stuckey's ever sold out of their initial allotment.
I'm sure it's been done, but a study/recap of the evolution of convenience stores/travel centers would be interesting, and would have to include Stuckey's, QT and Bucee's. My brother in-law took me to a QT in Cobb County, GA about 20-25 years ago, and it was like going to the fair compared to other convenience stores of the day. Others have caught up, but they were a trend setter.
Yeah, but at what other place can you get brisket, 30 flavors/types of jerkey, Dippin Dots ice cream, patio furniture, Costa sunglasses, Realtree gear, Carhaart wear, 3/16 steel grill smokers, AND GAS in a single stop?
