To absolutely go off in a different direction. I wonder how hard OU looked at Heupel when they were looking for Riley's replacement?

I think Heupel did an amazing job this year and certainly overachieved. Can he build on it? Can they move towards being competitive in the East? I think if he does move towards making the East a 3 man race, as I expect Napier to make Florida competitive. I feel like Heupel would be solidifying himself as the successor to Venables, should he digress at OU as the HC.

"Thank God it happened" isn't paraphrased: direct quote from Heupel.

If Stoops wasn't still around the program in Norman he'd likely have been given more consideration. There's bad blood there. Heupel felt like he was a scapegoat and he was: OU's issues when he was fired were on defense.
