First games are always a little iffy,

Bama's won every season opener in Saban's tenure by at least two scores. As I recall, the two closest games were both won by 10; WVU and VT. Overall, including your Kent's of the world, the average margin of victory is probably around four touchdowns—three if it's only Power 5 teams.

Pretty damn consistent, in my eyes.

First post by a poster on a USC board. He probably nailed the score.

Re: LQQKing Ahead- My Take On The Alabama Game!
When this thread was first created, I was optimistic we'd be able to hang in this game, but after the setbacks we've had last month w/personnel...I don't think we'll realistically keep this one close.

Saban is King right now. There isn't anything we'll be able to do on Offense that will make him sweat. If we had Cody back another year, but Alabama is not the team to go against and get your first start/win.

Alabama generally doesn't put up embarrassing Big 12-like scores on opponents, so a 38-17 type win for them seems about right.

I think this was supposed to be the game we announced ourselves to the nation, but our coaching debacles these past years have made this a game I wish were weren't playing now, and when this game was announced, I thought it was smart planning on our part.

Our 2016 schedule is brutal based on the returning strength of our opponents.

And a reply to that post.

Re: LQQKing Ahead- My Take On The Alabama Game!
I knew two years ago by looking at the depth chart and considering the sanctions that we'd be thinner than usual on the DL. Now it's even worse than that.

Part of me was hoping we'd get something of a recruiting boost from kids wanting to play Bama but I don't think that panned out as well as I'd hoped, Helton being new and all.

Good DL take time to develop and Kiff/Sark put more emphasis on OL.

Right now Bama's strength plays into our weakness. Not good for us.

But we're going to FIGHT ON!

** Off Topic** There a restaurant we go to in SouthPark called Cowfish, 6-8 times a year. Flair is always there hugging the bar with a stiff drink. Always. He looks really rough. He usually has this buddy with him that I cannot place for the life of me. He's got to be a former 'wrasler... Dude has the former body builder build, about 60+ years old, and dies his hair jet black. They're an interesting couple. Sat at the bar a few times waiting on a table and heard him trying to pick up any breathing gal that walks buy.

Our adjustments will be to: plug in a first year starter at QB just like the previous two years, plug in a RB, decide which arrangement of 4 and 5* players we are going to call our "first D". Decisions, decisions!! They lose a ton on their defensive front!! Harris, Scarborough, or Emmons will get a chance to rip USC a new asshole!!

Has/did Emmons qualify?

I'll bite. We're preseason 1 or 2 and we aren't loaded, yet have adjustments?

I truly believe that either Southern Cal or Alabama is going to rise above their ability and win this game. I'd say Alabama, for sure, but I don't like to have all my eggs in one basket. So, maybe USC will win because they score more points than Alabama or something like that. If Alabama scores more points, which is also possible if they play well, they win.
