was what happened tonight. Plain and simple. We were the better team going in and no one, not even the biggest AU fan, would have disagreed. However, we were challenged in every faucet of the game. I always give credit where its due and today was no exception. They flat out played us. But make not mistake, the way we overcame and found a way to win, works WONDERS for this team and what we have next weekend. Had we walked in and stomped AU it would have been very easy to get caught up in that much more hype. We were humbled a bit and I think it helps more than hurts. Roll Tide.

I agree with everything except the "challenged in every faucet of the game" comment.

No way did awbarn out play us when it came to kickoff and punt returns. Arenas had two big returns. Heck, Javier even became a factor when he didn't touch the ball (kicking away from him resulted in two kickoffs out-of-bounds and Bama with good starting field position).

honestly since auburn had 2 weeks to prep, and we only had 5 days off instead of the normal 6 to get ready with thanksgiving thrown in there, i expected the game to go this way. But look back at the game. In now way did we get totally outplayed. They scored on a reverse where one of our db's was basically horse collared to the ground while closing out on the carrier, another trick play, and a mistake by woodall. But once all the trickery was gone they really didnt do much at all. And im proud as hell of the way the team buckled down came back. Ppl give gmac all sorts of crap for his play sometimes but i have never seen him better than that game winning drive.

What that did was show that we could win without MI having a great game, and that we could win in a hostile environment, on the road, and make the plays when they mattered the most.

We were at the game and its tough to dissect it all until you get home and watch it back like I did today. I want to take back something I said, and say the post I quoted is more right than my original. They did not outplay us in every faucet. However, our running game was not all that good, they really didnt move the ball on us at all. Live and die by the "big plays" and you will see more losses on your schedule than wins. and that really sums it up. We kept em in check with the exception of 2 plays and a kid being a dumbass and costing us 15 yards. I do wonder why we couldnt establish a running game. I know they stacked the line and box but geez we outweighed em by a ton.
