I remember reading a bit about him back in fall camp. There were two things that stuck out and came to mind this morning seeing his verbal.
I can't recall if it was his high school coach who said it; maybe it was an evaluator. It made sense considering he's from Cobb County. The description of the guys playing style was like Hines Ward. Not in the sense of how many receptions and yards he'd gained so far but how good he was in blocking schemes. He's a natural fit for the WR group at UA.
The second thing was his work ethic. Baker mentioned it was his goal to catch 1000 balls a day to work in his receiving skills. Think about that...1000 balls a day. That's a lot of time and effort.
We are raiding St. Frances in Maryland. Awesome clip posted on here before about that program and the guy that funds that program. They are a team of badasses that no one wants to play anymore and they are churning out talent like a South Florida school with financial concerns in Maryland.
It may or may not stay that way... we have 21 verbals which is on the higher side. There are other schools out there with higher average stars and much fewer verbals. Will kinda depend on how things shake out down the stretch.
Regardless, I tend to look more at who we are targeting and if we end up with those targets rather than board rankings. Board rankings/evaluations really don't take into account team needs. You have to fill the right holes with the right people more so than just raw star ratings...

The guys on our "wishlist" will likely keep us at #1 even though we can't take them all.
