After talking with Tiger fans and reading over various message forums I am reminded of Ole Miss fans when it comes to the Mizzou fan base. Their general tone is so reminiscent of 2009 with the (then) Rebel fan base demanding respect while informing the rest of the SEC of just how good they were going to be that season.
I've grown tired of it. It isn't a matter of not having respect for the Mizzou team, but more of the desire to see them smacked into reality that joining the conference and having success can't be based on what they've enjoyed over the past few years in the Big12.
I've said here many a time I simply don't like Georgia. It's nothing about Richt, even though I feel his is one of the most duplicitous people out there, but that dislike is rooted in the majority of the actions of their fan base. I've never seen a group of fans trash other teams' campuses like they do but even setting that aside there are plenty of other reasons for my feelings. Heck, I could start with them ripping down the flags marking past championships at BDS but if I get into that I'll likely never stop.
So, to my point.
I want both teams to lose this game for reasons like the few I've stated above. I've said here I like Mizzou to beat the spread so at least I'll have "something" to root for.
But, in terms of Georgia setting the example of things they can look forward to this season? Can they?
I got this note last night from a beat writer for UGA.

Hearing Commings and Rambo out for MU, Smith and Ogletree likely out, Vasser out along with Shawn Williams.
Do the math T, that's the entire backfield or six of our back seven.
