šŸ“ The Portal Watch 2020-2021: Florida's Emory Jones announces intent to enter the transfer portal

Between Simpson, Tyson, and Milroe something has to give.

In practices with the team Simpson is living up to his billing. Considering where he is on the depth chart it would make sense for Tyson to look around. I'm more interested in seeing what happens with Milroe; I'd say he's one with plenty of reason to look around. Simpson's been that good.

If Milroe leaves, Tyson stays.

I'm not suggesting we see all of this work itself out this spring. It could and just as easily be a discussion we're happening same time, same date, next year.

It's best Tyson to leave.... Best chance for him to start elsewhere is to transfer now.

Milroe/Simpson will stay around for another year.... Need to see the battle between these two next spring.

The next 48 hours is when this stuff all gets sorted out... guys meet with Saban and such. Other than the obvious ones, I know Battle and especially Metchie were/are leaning to leaving, but no decision has been made yet and it can certainly change based on Saban's advice (Metchie's would be more due to medical than anything). Henry T most likely returning.

On coaches, besides what was already reported on Valai going to OU a week or so ago, if O'Brien can find a spot he really likes in the NFL he will go. But, he isn't looking to leave, it'll have to be for something he really wants. He actually enjoys it here and is fine with staying another season. Marrone wants back in the NFL yesterday. Sounds like he's more willing to take what he can get to get back in the pros now. Would not be shocking if Svoboda ended up elsewhere as well and if Sunseri went off the field.

Some of these are significant:

Transfers out of Alabama as of January 2022

Paul Tyson - Quarterback (New to transfer portal)
Drew Sanders - Outside linebacker (New to transfer portal)
Jahleel Billingsley - Tight End (New to transfer portal)
Tommy Brown - Offensive lineman (New to transfer portal)
King Mwikuta - Outside linebacker (New to transfer portal)

What is up with Drew Sanders? He will get playing time just needs to get fully over injury. We need depth at these positions. I think you are seeing parts of the issues with consistency this year. It would seem some of these guys have their minds on things other than working to be the best they can be so when their time comes they are ready.

I agree. Of all those names, Sanders is the most surprising.

He got passed when he was out injured. He's a really good player though and will IMO be one of those rare few that transfers out of Alabama (if he follows through) and still excels.

There is likely to be another surprising name or two transfer out... but that's just the nature of the beast now. It'll be fine though, Bama is in really good position to cherry pick some (more) elite guys as well. It's a two way street, and Saban knows how to navigate it.

Do you (or anyone else on here) hear of any TE prospects that are likely for the portal. I really believe Billingsley leaving is addition by subtraction. I am not for criticizing players but he really looks like a cancer & needs to go elsewhere.
