He apparently has the "do not contact" tag in the portal. The feeling from some auburn people is that his dad is controlling things and they may already have his spot picked out. I don't know about that, but I feel safe in saying his dad certainly has a heavy hand in it.

He and his father didn't get along well with Harsin, at all. Bobo getting fired didn't help things, but I think he would have left anyway. He wasn't getting any assurances that he'd start next season. Apparently Harsin wants to bring in a guy via the portal.

David Pollack and Rece Davis talked about the transfer portal Tuesday on "Turning the Page" and the conversation inevitably turned to Bo Nix. As they were discussing his ranking out of high school, his potential, as well as possible landing places Pollack lauded Nix and what he can bring. He had one caveat: "All that's missing is his mechanics."

All that's missing is his mechanics?!?! And that's a positive for a grad transfer quarterback?

That’s like evaluating a coach and saying all that’s missing is his X’s and O’s.

As much as it pains me to say, he could have been a really good QB had he had decent QB coaching from the get go... but he, or his dad was the one that put aU ahead of other programs that would have benefited him better.

That is my point. Instead of looking around to see who would benefit his sons growth the most, he had no other thought but aU. In the end, that may have killed his ability to get better and have the chance at an NFL career.

Kid has plenty of heart and some great wheels and strength; however, he has horrible mechanics and they have NEVER been addressed until Bobo came around. Had he had the proper coaching coming out of High School he could have been and most likely would have been an NFL draftable QB.

Watching him play, Nix seems like a kid that could have been a 5 tool player on the baseball field. Instead, he's on the football field and he just acts like a tool.

One thing positive about the transfer portal is that coaches can't lie to kids about playing time and future plans and expect them to just eat it for 4 years. Yes there are a lot of issues with it, but coaches are held a little more accountable for their recruiting now.
