Pretty obvious he was not going to be their starter next year, or at bare minimum he was going to have to compete for it and not be just given it. He's a Nix and beat Bama once. That is supposed to make him a legend at Auburn.

Just saw that Texas A&M QB Zach Calzada entered the portal

This is a head scratcher for me. He just went through a year of starting and growing pains, beat Alabama, has a great class coming in next Fall regardless of what may happen tomorrow, so what gives I wonder?

He really had a mediocre season other than the Bama game and was not the presumed starter for next year just as he wasn't the starter at the beginning of this year. They have King back next year (the original starter this year until he got hurt) and a 5 star who is committed. He may not want to deal with that.

I don't think it's 1 particular thing, but he and Harsin didn't mesh well at all (example, Harsin wasn't afraid to get on his ass at times and Golden Bo isn't used to that). Also, Harsin doesn't give Pat Nix the time of day like Pat thinks he's entitled to (and that asshole ain't used to that). So it's a butthurt family.

Well, I knew all of that, but assumed he had the leg up being only a True Freshman and having that year under his belt. It takes a lot to unseat a starter. But you're right, maybe it all scared him. He's from Georgia, so it could be distance too.

They did go 8-4 or 7-5....
Thats not much investment on 7-8 mill for HC...

Regarding Calzada... He's from Jawja & relatively close to Athens. His Father swam for UGA. It wouldn't shock me at all to see if he has a spot at UGA.

With Daniels, Vandagriff, and Beck there, and Hunter Stockton heading that way I doubt he goes to Georgia. Daniels and Beck are probably leaving though, so who knows in the end.

About Calzada. Athens is close enough to SCar and they definitely need a QB. MIght be an option for him.

Here comes the bowl season crap show with all these transfers. That’s A&M, LSU, and Auburn play callers all taking off. With this and opt-outs you’ll see these SEC teams that don’t want to play in the crap bowl take losses and then the pundits will roll out the overrated talk again. Congrats to Cadillac for not losing his job! This is the second time though in a year they've had to sell Tank on their "vision" when he had one foot out the door. Wouldn't be shocked at all if they have to do it again by summer...
