Watched "The Express" on DVD last night. Did a search before posting this and found an old thread that dealt with the inaccurate portrayal of a game between Syracuse and West Virginia during Davis' playing days. Since my post deals with an inaccurate portrayal of a "National Championship Game" in the movie, I am beginning to wonder if anything in the movie was accurate.

The supposedly "NCG" I refer to was the 01/01/1960 Cotton Bowl between Syracuse and Texas. The movie depicts #1 Syracuse playing #2 Texas for the NC. In the first place, Syracuse was named National Champion in the FINAL polls of both the AP and UPI on 12/08/1959. Secondly, Texas was not second at all. They were #4 in both of those polls.

http://www.cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/national_championships/poll_results.php?year=1955 Link is 1955-1959.

Have not seen the movie, but I remember when Davis played at Syracuse. Tended to make folks forget about Jim Brown. He was a great back, but other than that, I know little about him.

Btw, I have a cousin who lives in Cumming.

There are a bunch of Bama fans in this area.

As for the movie, I knew that was incorrect as soon as I saw it. I really hate it when they take something like that and twist it. As I said, makes me wonder if any of it is accurate.
