with the additions of quinton dial 6'6 315, and jesse williams (nobody knows how big he really is)

then we have kerry murphy, josh chapman, brandon lewis, brandon ivory.. all these guys are well over 300 lb

plus we have some great pass rushers, especially damien square..

actually our defense should be great next year.. if hightower and barron stay, we could have the best defense in the nation..

assuming our secondary works out their rookie kinks..

Square & Sentimore are going to be beasts on the ends imo and I really, really think Ivory could be a Cody type of threat. Hes just massive. Chapman is beyond strong and getting better and better.

I do not think our defense is the one to worry about. Look at our defense this year. Number 1 in the SEC and number 6 in the nation. That is a National Championship capable defense. Our offense laid an egg when we needed them the most. Our oline is what needs to improve drastically. Not many teams feared our passing game which resulted in 8 in the box. Last year, for some reason, when teams stacked the box against us, we ran it efficiently anyway. This year something went wrong with only replacing one started along the front. Hopefully it gets fixed.

My biggest concern for next year is the QB position. Having a first year starter may be our biggest problem. I expect the O-line to be much better which will improve the running game. If the running game is extremely better it will take a lot of pressure off of the QB and things will roll right along. I am not concerned with the defense at all.

they didnt stack against us as much this year actually,
we just couldnt block

Upon further review of this year, sure our Defense grew and turned out to not be terrible, but no one can say they were great-- I think there were a few other problems on the team all compounded together to make this season what it was, no one thing lost us games. But next year, with a Defense that should simply be much more mature and bigger up front, do remember that throughout the past few years we have recruited defense more than anything, I bet we have more 4 and 5 stars per capita on defense than any team in the SEC (though i have NO idea if that stat is right lol), I think our defense turns out another '09-esque performance.

Plus, the blocking should get better, running back(s) doesn't/ dont drop off in my opinion, and WRs... I dont think anyone can make a prediction on how that will turn up, tho I will say 1) we have some very good WRs that havent played yet and 2) go look at our incoming freshman receivers next year, they're gonna be a strong class. Oh, and the QB won't be an issue, we have two very good prospects that will be competing for the job, I think whoever wins the job will be the one that is ready to step up and compete at a veteran's level

You know, this brings up a question that really has not been raised at ALL this year: to what extent do we miss Mount Cody?? I have not seen his name mentioned ANYWHERE on the lists of people from last year that we miss the most; understandably, its always Ro McClain, Javi, and the rest of the DBs but never once is Cody mentioned, and IMO he's the one that really anchored that line and allowed other pass rushers, such as M. Dareus, to be more effective and Linebackers to be able to get to and plug up the holes, and DBs to have less of a problem with making the tackles if the runner gets through the first line-- his booming presence is certainly something we missed this year
