This is probably a day late and a dollar short for comments on this subject, but I wasn't seriously worried about losing Saban. Here is the reason why. I believe Saban is the best there is in the business right now. He wants to be considered the best in the business, of all time, because of his tremendous ego, which I admire. Bear Bryant won 6 National Championships. Nick Saban has won 4. It is my honest opinion that he wants 3 more, to beat the Bear. The man is 62 years old. To accomplish that, do you move to a new job and start all over, or do you stay where you have created a recruiting dynasty? Nick has a much easier path to number 7, in the least amount of time, at Bama. Does he want the respect of having the highest salary in College Football while pursuing that goal? Yes he does! And his tactics and very smart agent have accomplished that. Nick believes he can win at Bama. He came very close to #5 this year. With his incredible recruiting, #7 might not be that far away. Especially with the 4 team playoff starting in 2014. I am probably full of it, but that is this 63 year old Bama fan's opinion.
