You are not a blue blood unless you sustain it for a long period of time in my opinion. Down years sure but more up than down. Johnny come latelies do not qualify in my opinion. I agree with the list of 8. Although a couple of those are teetering.
I will say this - while every university tends to have periods of ups and downs, there are a few teams that I donāt see rebounding as well in todayās college football climate. Nebraska would be at the top of that list. Starting to feel like Tennessee might be on that list as well.
Iāve never put too much stock in rankings based on conference championships. To be conference champion in the SEC is a whole lot harder than in other conferences.
Am I wrong in the fact that I do not really consider Texas a Blueblood of college football? Below is a little reasoning. Sure, they rank high on total wins, and I think we can attribute that to a lot of easy games being in the conferences they have been in and opponents they have played against. Plus, they have played more than most on the list.
