📽 /🎵 THE ACCOUNTANT 2 🔥🎞 April 25th

That's worth the time. Good movie...one of those I've seen more than a couple of times. Anna Kendrick, John Lithgow, Jeffrey Tambor, Jean Smart ... those off the top of my head.

I see it is available on Max, I may check it out this weekend. I finally watched the final (I guess final, anyway) John Wick a couple weekends ago. Had it sitting in my bought/downloaded movies for a while.

I see it is available on Max,
It is...Prime, YTTV, about all of 'em have it.

You'll love the "home protection system" in his garage ... don't let it give you any ideas!

For Affleck, I'd put this movie in the top five that he's been in...top five if I'm not forgetting one here or there.

Armageddon,
Good Will Hunting,
Gone Girl,
Town
was decent as was Pearl Harbor and The Sum of All Fears. (Different reasons for the last two; history and an early Clancy fan.)

I don't know if this one is any good. It'll take some creative writing for a good plot because I don't see where they can go.

I'll watch this one. I love the 1st one, so this one is a definite for me. But I'll have to wait until it comes out on streaming since I don't go to the theater.

I love going to the “theater”. The experience is always better. Action, sci-fi, type stuff is always better in the movie theater. If comedy, drama, romance is your thing, it doesn’t make much of a difference.
Sci-fi and action in IMAX is even better!!!

I rarely go to the theatre myself. If Tuscaloosa had a better/nicer one, I'd go a little more often, but that probably isn't saying much. I think I went to 3 movies in all of 2024, and 2 of them were when I was in Orlando. 1 was in Tuscaloosa and went on a whim one day when I was bored and already on that side of the river. I don't think I had been to a movie in Tuscaloosa before that since Frozen 2 came out and I took Little Miss Van de Graaff. I just wait for them to hit streaming... no rush. Even with movies I really want to see (which are few and far between these days).

I don't either. But I gotta ask, "why?"
Too many rude-ass people either talking through the entire movie or on their phone or both. I'm OK with waiting until streaming so I can watch it at home on my (rather modest) home theater. Plus I can pause it if I need to go use the toilet. And the snacks don't cost me twice as much as the movie.

@Brandon Van de Graaff The one in town, was it a matinee? Headed towards Skyland on McFarland, is that theatre still there...right hand side?

@sean When I went I always hit a matinee. Like you, I don't care for the crowds. Hell, when watching a movie at home I'm rewinding, often. (...giving credence to accusations of having ADD.) Now, @Rsedge72 has a point about action movies: with most people. The last movie I attended was Iron Man 2. I fell asleep. (I fell asleep in Cats the weekend before that. Does that say something about me, or the movie?)

A movie like F1? I don't really care for Brad Pitt. I don't watch racing. But. The sound for that one at an IMAX? Tempting. Honestly, it's about the only movie this year I'd consider the trip ... some really bad ones out. Wanna see a story about hitting a unicorn? Upcoming! Geez...

OH, that reminds me ...

My first surround sound system and the original Top Gun. It was better at home (woofer on the hardwood floors may have contributed a bit.)

Not sure about this one, but a good bit of the original was filmed near my house. There is a scene that includes the Red Top Mountain State Park bridge. I've boated under that bridge hundreds of times, funny seeing it in a movie.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, close to the Red Lobster and and where Toy R Us was, then no. It's either vacant or something else now.
Yep. That's the one. I've mentioned living behind there when I was in undergrad...spent a few afternoons in that place. It wasn't that nice. It was always sparsely crowded for daytime showings.

For a bit was was a $1 movies theatre before it closed it... It's been close a while. I may be something else now, not sure. There were rumors a while back that it was gonna be turned into something else but I don't recall what.

I really liked the one that was here for a few years even when they went to $2 for a movie at night!

I never had one of their pizzas though they did have a pizza machine/oven. $2 for a 16oz. beer or soft drinks.

Thinking about those days ...

$4.50 for a few (3) mini-bottles.
$1 movie.
$2 beer back.

Get that? $7.50 and you can't get into a theater for that today.

You could spend all day in that place if you wanted. Walk out of one movie ending into another starting. The employees did not care.

...which is probably part of the reason they went out of business...
