🏈 The 2024 SEC football schedule:

Speaking of the dipshits... I don't know how much they'll push for it with the new scheduling (and with OU/Texas added into the mix), but auburn had been clamoring for the SEC to alternate their home/away games with UGA and Bama again. When the scheduling was altered about 10 years ago, UGA had to play at auburn 2 consecutive years. They ain't eating that one again. Bama ain't either. So, will they just leave it as is and enjoy the revenue boost every other year, or throw UGA a bone (sorry for the unintended pun), and give up a home game to them at some point soon? I figure they'll let it ride with the new scheduling more than likely, but they always seem to have something up their sleeve, so who knows...

I still believe.....based on absolutely nothing i have heard......
That the 2 perm will be the resolute of scheduling.....

As such.....Tennessee &AU will be on Bama schedule...
..seems to work for everyone....to get to 9 game sec schedule....

If I understand all of this, this is a one season schedule? I do believe we will go to 9 games the following year or two.
Yes. It's just that season.

When you have five of 14 wanting nine, we add two more in the next meeting? If both OU and TX want nine they're still left with a 50/50 split.

When I look at the schedules these SEC teams are facing, why move to nine? Out of the eight SEC games, the chances of a team having over 50% of their schedule being ranked? Vandy looks to have six of their eight ranked.

It's about a resume, right?

I don't think that the SEC is done expanding. I could see it going to 18 teams in the next few years. Clemson, Florida State, Oklahoma State, and even West Virginia are some names being thrown around. A 9 game conference schedule is an absolute MUST at that point

More of a when, not if. Mentioned a couple weeks back that NC State and Virginia Tech are 2 of the teams that have been discussed among the SEC power players as getting the next invitations. A lot can change and I don't think even they know right now what lies ahead for sure, but in terms of the next expansion plan, those 2 fit what they are looking for the most, supposedly (which of course is $).

I don’t see NC State or VA Tech as being big money generators. If the SEC wants money, Clemson, Florida State and North Carolina are better money makers.

Surprising to me too, and I think there’s more to it, but supposedly it’s about new markets it would get, which teams like Clemson and FSU won’t bring. Personally, I wish they’d cut teams instead of add more.

Unless we're just looking for new real estate and beatable teams, I don't see NC State, VaTech or WV. We've already broken the "we won't add your in-state rival" promise to aTm, so Clemson/FSU could be next.

Eventually, IMO, it’s headed to a huge super conference anyway… basically SEC vs. B1G, like the NFC vs. AFC.
