🏈 That was a very awkward moment....SECCG

The hit on Murray was dirty plain and simple. Murray wasnt hardly moving and everybody with sense knows Murray wasnt going to make the tackle or even attempt it. I think the league office is going to look at it and there could be a suspension because the very same kind of hit happened with Ole Miss and Douth Carolina and those two guys were suspended. I know we don't coach to play like that, but it still happened

Dummy. We didn't play SC. You are gullible. You fell for the CBS bull and did no thinking of your own. Please never vote. I'm sure you would do exactly what CNN and MSNBC told you.

What they said was that Ole Miss and South Carolina players were suspended for similar actions in the year. He didn't say it was when we played them, it wasn't.

Ummm hey dummy I know we didnt play SC as does CBS know we didnt play SC there was a SC player suspended for a hit just like the one from last night which is what CBS said last night.

I've heard things wrong before but I could have sworn that they said "They've done this twice before, once against Ole Miss, and again in the South Carolina game. Three strikes and you're out."

Regardless, I really enjoy listening to Gary. Didn't even cross my mind that he was "pro-bama" or "pro-georgia". I think he's one of the better ones out there actually.

As for the hit — it wasn't called for. But I wouldn't even come close to calling Dial a dirty player, Alabama a dirty team or even calling that hit a dirty hit. If Aaron isn't a QB this isn't even a discussion. My attitude is "hey, that's football," BUT the game is changing more and more to protect the QB's, and now-a-days going by the rules that hit probably warranted an "unnecessary roughness" penalty.

Now, if someone hit AJ like that we'd all be raising hell, including Saban. But that fact doesn't make it a dirty hit either...

I don't think Bama is a dirty team or that Dial is a dirty player by any means. But guys get into the heat of the moment, and Murry WAS a defender .. Dial was doing his job, albeit roughly and with his helmet a little high. I am sure he will get DRILLED about it by CNS, so no one needs to worry about that. There were a lot of dirty hits last night (mostly from Georgia, even without my Crimson-colored glasses!) so maybe Dial was taking out his frustration on Murray. A lot of them, on both sides of the play, were playing with their emotions on their sleeves last night. Doesn't make the hit right by any means but just trying to justify what was going through his head.

I don't think the media is helping by blowing it up, though. On several websites, it's a top news article about it being an 'awful missed call' or a 'vicious hit' or 'dirty Bama players' .. I don't think that's fair. It's not the Detroit Lions' Suh playing!

I think Ritter and Company more than "made-up" for the no-call on Dial. The next offensive series was when we had the infamous deflection and no pass interference. That would have been a first down and at the least a chip shot field goal. Because of the no call, we try a long field goal that gets blocked and returned for 7. That is a 10 point swing.........I know it is all woulda, coulda, shoulda, but that was just as piss poor a no call as the one on Murray.

They missed that call, but it was close, and the ball was wobbly coming out. It wasn't the correct call, but it's not like that was blatantly obvious it wasn't tipped...especially in real time. We have the beauty of watching the replay in slow-motion.

Besides, to me, one play doesn't mean the refs completely blew he game.

BTW, with the fumble on the goal line by EL, it's close and COULD be a touchdown, but it's not conclusive if we take off our crimson colored glasses.

Is this a Tide fan forum? I thought we were supposed to be wearing "crimson colored glasses." In fact, I had to send someone named "doemasters" a picture of me wearing mine before I was allowed to post--that and a certified check for one hundred dollars.

That's fine, but unless some major thing has changed...the replay booth has the beauty of watching the replay in slow-motion as well...

For the game not to be stopped for that review, which should have been reversed, is beyond incompetence.

Wow, some of these comments amaze me. Did I miss something? Are we now playing two-hand touch? I played football and lacrosse and Dial's hit on Murray was just a good old fashioned slobber-knocker as far as I'm concerned. Everyone who's ever played knows that after an INT, the QB better have his head on a swivel. Even those nauseating commentators mentioned that. The QB is fair game on an INT and if Murray had been paying better attention, he wouldn't have gotten his clock cleaned.

I don't see that as dirty at all. Lay the wood on the QB every chance you get. As I recall, Dial led with his shoulder, making it a clean hit. The head contact was a result of momentum from the hit itself.

Good point, and that's fine, but unless something has changed, since when have the refs ever been the ones to call for a review? The guys in the booth do, or the coaches like Saban can ask for one.

We have coaches in the booth that have the ability to watch it in slow-motion as well. If it was blatantly obvious they would have contacted someone on the sideline to ask for a review. Fact of the matter is, it wasn't blatantly obvious in the moment...which is why the guys in the booth, nor Saban asked for the play to be reviewed.
