Yeah and how many times did they replay that hit vs replays of the thUGA player gouging Milliner's eyes?
I think I saw it replayed one brief time, with very little commentary on it.
Overall one of the worst officiated games I've ever watched.
The helmet to helmet contact was bad, as it is in any block / tackle but our guy led with his shoulder, imo. The helmet contact was incidental as it is many times. Besides, we had intercepted the ball, Murray had become a prospective tackler, he had to be accounted for by a blocker. The nation, especially after the block is talked up ad nausem by Brando and company this week, will not think of it in that light. Regardless, we know our guys are not taught to play dirty and that was never the intent.
One of the few things I could agree with Lou Holtz on: if you want to remove helmet to helmet contact, remove the faceguard.

At halftime they were throwing around the idea of a suspension. If I remember they said that this was the third time we've done this because we did it against Ole Miss and South Carolina.
For the life of me, I don't recall anything against Ole Miss, but hell, we didn't even play South Carolina. The only play I can think of would the Missouri game when Fanning suplexed their backup RB.
I feel that a lot of fans around College Football, including "analysts" that are growing tired of the SEC domination and specifically, Alabama.

I agree 110% with that statement, plus those 2 idiot announcers verne and gary made it all that much worse by running their mouths about it all night long. I'm glad we don't have to hear them any more this year. I could tell from the way they talked they were rooting for jawja all night long. They must not know the rules of college football.
The last time I said anything about Verne and Gary I got jumped by everyone. And I was just making a joke. So, get ready.

If you don't want the the knuckleheads in the booth to drone on and on and on about the play, then don't make the hit. It was indeed a cheap shot and I didn't find any satisfaction in it. There's no justification for it. It was an unnecessary blow to the head and potentially an attempt to injure Murray. Had the officials been in the game last night, it would have cost us a crucial 15 yards of field position.
No. I do not believe that it's suspension-worthy, but I would expect the coaching staff to make it a topic of discussion. I know they do not coach that sort of play. That is not Bama football. It's the sort of low-class crap I expect from LSU or the Barn.

So, after Murray went from QB to defender, and lets say that he ran full speed into Milliner and knocked himself out, this wouldn't even be a topic. They would have either praised Murray for sacrificing himself for his team or that would have questioned his judgement of risking injury and Georgia losing their QB. We see it all the time on turnovers, and on some offensive plays when the QB throws a block. Just like GMAC in the Capital One Bowl. But my point is, when the ball is turned over, the QB isnt a QB anymore....he is a defender and he is trying to make a hit....so why cant he be hit?

The hit on Murray was dirty plain and simple. Murray wasnt hardly moving and everybody with sense knows Murray wasnt going to make the tackle or even attempt it. I think the league office is going to look at it and there could be a suspension because the very same kind of hit happened with Ole Miss and Douth Carolina and those two guys were suspended. I know we don't coach to play like that, but it still happened
Was the hit dirty? Yeah, a bit. Was it called for? No, probably not. Did it warrant CBS not shutting up about it for the LONGEST time. No. I went and did something else during halftime because I usually try to avoid Brando as much as I can whenever I can. But I usually laugh at people who say that Verne and Gary don't like Bama, and root for the other team...but after last night it's tempting to say those people don't have reason to think that. To go back after halftime to harp on it even more is ridiculous, then hardly anything said about the block in the back, the "tipped ball" (don't get me started on that, if anyone in the replay booth thought that was seriously inconclusive then they need to be fired), and then a simple chuckle and "that stuff just happens" during the no call on the horrendous hold late in the game.
