this part of the article made me chuckle...

....Alabama ranks second in the nation against the run -- behind Texas -- giving up 78 yards per game. The Crimson Tide offers a formidable front, starting with the 350-pound Cody.

Davis said of watching game tape of Alabama, "What you see a lot of times is the offensive lineman has him covered up but nothing happens. They are like two monsters in the old sci-fi films. All of sudden, the ball carrier gets close, the offensive guy gets discarded, and the monster eats your back up."

The Longhorns offer as an appetizer Tre' Newton, one of four tailbacks who have started at least one game this season.

One has to think that when a school like Texas who has a great recruiter in Mack Brown and in-state talent-enough for half of D1, then it's a coaching or system problem. There is no reason Texas shouldn't be able to run the ball.

I just hope they don't get it figured out any time soon.

but then again...you could easily poor mouth Bama as well. this photo alone could assist (not sure if anyone noticed the photographers accidental crystal ball in the hands trick)

at the end of the day, Bama should be ready to play an undefeated Texas team with the winningest college football QB. Texas will bring their A game and as long as each Bama player does his job, it will all work out.

I don't know, I think it's a double edged sword. Bama players are probably now hearing about how Texas will win because Bama will not be ready and about how a Heisman winner hasn't won it in however many tries. I think Bama has it's own set of things it wants to prove to people. If this were the Sugar Bowl again, I'd be worried about the team being motivated...but one shouldn't need outside influences to get pumped for this one.

at on of the pressers i heard Saban kinda take a jab at texas.

he basically said...

not taking anything away from what they (texas) did but we earned our way here we didnt have to be voted in....

i thought it sounded very uncharacteristic of him

I think that is reaching. Unless he is a UT beat photographer they wouldnt have put that much thought into the shot. If the same photographer covered Saban's interview he may very well have the same shot.

I also dont think Saban talks with his hands as much as Mack.

We know that they will not run all over Bama.
We know that CNS will not give McCoy all day to pass.
It comes down to McCoy getting into a rythem with quick passes.
This means press coverage from our guys
Which means McCoy is going against CNS' toy soldiers.
