🏈 Texas Monthly: Silence at Baylor

Good read. If that was my daughter I'd straight up kill this dude after I did everything I could to go after the school.

Baylor is a private Baptist College, why would they cover this crap up or sweep this under the rug?

Sam Ukwuachu was just found guilty. I hope someone shanks him in prison.

So were the following facts: That Ukwuachu transferred to Baylor in May 2013 because he had been kicked off the Boise State team for a previous incident of violence involving a female student; that Ukwuachu claimed after the transfer was announced that Baylor’s coaches “knew everything” about what happened in Idaho; and, as indicated by court documents obtained by Texas Monthly, the two programs had some communication regarding Ukwuachu in which Boise State officials expressed reticence about supporting the player’s efforts to get back on the field.

In my oldest daughter's sophomore year at UA, she was placed in a small, on-campus residence hall. The residence had no lighting around it or in the parking lot. Since my daughter had a night class, I was concerned about her safety. I called school officials and within a week the area around the residence hall and the parking lot were well lighted. What a great response from a great university! She graduated with a Master's degree and a husband who got his MBA, both from UA. Nine years later I sent her twin sisters to UA and they both graduated Magna Cum Laude. Many thanks to UA!

That's exactly why.
That was my thought exactly.

Baylor removes an AA caliber player from the roster following an indictment for forcible rape, and post-conviction news is the first most have heard about.

If a preferred walk-on at Bama had been removed from roster, every media source in the state would have questions and national media would be prepping an expose.

In contrast, Baylor gets cute with a team photo to poke at the other state Christian school and that is national news on ESPN.

Highlights two things:
1. Baylor is too irrelevant to garner national attention even when a major sport athlete rapes someone

2. The power of corrupt influential "Christian" organizations remains prevalent

@TerryP or @doemasters, could you guys delete my post? It is out of place and seems a tad bit tacky now that @PhillyGirl brought it to my attention.

As for this thread, IF anyone did this to my daughter, they had better pray that they have given their soul to God, because that ass would belong to me!! I will do things to them that would make them unrecognizable! That is, IF their body was EVER FOUND!

SHOCKING! not really.
Anyone remember the basketball scandal from a few years ago? One player murdered his own teammate, and the ensuing investigation uncovered tremendous corruption in the athletic department. Or how about the longtime policy of the school to expel unmarried female students who became pregnant?

One hell of an institution there in Waco...

Here is an update for those trying to follow

1) A player got kicked out of Boise St. and went to Baylor.
2) Once at Baylor, he raped a girl.
3) He was pretty much cleared by the University, but then yesterday was convicted of the crime.
4) It came out that Baylor really flubbed up the investigation, ignored a lot of really damning evidence, etc.
5) Someone asked Art Briles, "Did you know this guy was violent?" and he lied and said no, no, we had no idea.
6) Today, Chris Peterson who booted the guy at Boise State said he told Briles all about the guy's violent history.

Baylor was connected with the same agent that Oregon used to pay for players and Auburn was also in contact with a few years ago. So they have been playing in the dirt for some time now. TCU hired Luper so you can pretty much guarantee they are as well. TCU and Baylor are also very strong rivals.
