Texas is going to be tough for any brand new starting QB simply because of him having to play a shoot out.

I truly hope the defense will be able to really get after Ewers but I'm not all that optimistic.

Texas will have their own issues to deal with. Ewers is the man and one hell of a QB. I would imagine that Manning will push him hard, if nothing more through the media's eyes and all the hype around Arch Manning. That could be an issue certainly early in the season if Sark doesn't manage things well.

Ewers will not be the starter. Manning was given that starting role before he would commit. That the reason he ruled out Bama and Georgia. At both he would have to compete and this is something he has never had to do.
