I think the absence of TG in the game speaks very loudly for him transferring, IMO. Don't want to jump to a false conclusion, but unless there was another reason.......
Terry, what's your take?

Huh? Why? That would suck. I like Terry
Consider...
Trent Richardson
Mark Ingram
Roy Upchurch
Glen Coffee
Ivan Matchett
Jermaine Preyear
Demetrius Goode
I can't see going into the 2009 season with 8 RB's on scholarship. It's all speculation at this point, but there is some logic to it, that we see a transfer or two out of the RB group.
The fact is we are going to see some attrition across the board and that number could be as high as double digits.

You left Griffin off the list...he ran very well in mop-up duty tonight.
I wish Grant all the best and, for his sake, I hope he does transfer. The reality is that he just isn't as good as several on that list.

Think that is because he is listed as a FB
Feel kinda dumb responding to my own post, but someone said Terry was hurt on an early Special Teams play. If so, maybe that's the reason he didn't get to play. I hope it isn't anything serious, & wish him the best.Crimson Hawk said:I think the absence of TG in the game speaks very loudly for him transferring, IMO. Thanks for the feedback Terry. I'd love to see him stay especially considering what you mentioned above......quality PEOPLE are certainly welcome, & especially those that happen to be football players too. CNS & staff are possibly the best I've EVER SEEN at finding a "specialist" niche for players that have talent that might not fit in with what their mainstream intentions are. I feel sure they will find a use for TG's talents. One other question. Is he FULLY recovered from his injuries? If so, he was one of the fastest players on the team.......hard to believe you can't find a use for that kind of speed.TerryP said:Crimson Hawk said:Feel kinda dumb responding to my own post, but someone said Terry was hurt on an early Special Teams play. I had someone ask me that this morning and they said they had heard it on the radio broadcast. (at least, that's where I think they said they heard it)
Terry has done a good job on special teams this year. It's one of those roles that goes largely unnoticed unless you are the kicker, the gunner, or the one that missed a block or tackle.
I know TG is upset about not playing much this year. I feel for him even with the understanding of why. The kid loves it at UA. Great kid, great student.
A couple of thoughts on your earlier question Hawk...
Even with the lack of playing time, I don't see this as a situation where he would want to play "closer to home." He's from MS, but doesn't really have any family there now. (Mom lives in FL)
He's doing great on the academic side of things at UA...it's a great fit for him there.
Clemson was one of those schools that made it in his final choices before he committed to Alabama. He developed a good relationship with their RB coach at the time. That coach just happens to be one Burton Burns, his current position coach at UA.
He did play some of the defensive side of the ball as a Jr, but didn't as a Sr. Is a move from offense to defense in his future? I don't know, but it is a possibility I'm sure the staff would talk with him about before conversations turned to transferring. (he played receiver some in high school as well. If we're right and we see Scott move to the defense over the off-season, he may figure into the slot role...but there, he's looking at 2-3 guys he'll be fighting for playing time with as well)
I've speculated that a transfer might be in his future. In fact, I said about the same thing you did in your earlier post last night in a conversation with a friend of mine. I've seen rumors about his going back to a school he considered as a senior, Southern Miss. But, if he had to sit a year (which he would at SMU) that choice doesn't make a lot of sense to me because I think he could land at a program that uses his running style a lot more, and one that is more nationally recognized.
