Tennessee 15, Alabama 5.

That’s not a fantasy football score. And it’s current, not from 20 years ago.

The Vols actually are beating the Tide. More specifically, they are beating them in recruiting commitments for 2018, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

Never mind if these are only commitments, rather than signees. Or that it’s only June.

Tennessee hasn’t beaten Alabama in football since 2006. And as well as it has recruited at times, it hasn’t kept up with Alabama, which repeatedly has ranked No. 1 in recruiting under coach Nick Saban.

Nonetheless, UT fans shouldn’t minimize the topsy-turvy development in recruiting regardless of what the calendar says. It’s worth renting a billboard in Tuscaloosa, Ala., with a Big Orange background and the score: Tennessee 15, Alabama 5.

It's too early to get worked up on who has commitments and who doesn't at this point in time. When October and November rolls around then it would be time to worry.

I will say that Saban has always delivered so far, so he gets the benefit of the doubt. That being said, it is very concerning that we only have 5 commits so far and we have missed on several that we wanted, while not getting the key early commits who would be recruiting for us

According to Rivals, Bama sits at #50 at the moment, behind Vanderbilt as well. If you go by the site's star rating, the Tide has five four stars and one three star. I glanced at Tennerseee's and they have several three stars and some fours.

Dude's turning his arms into Stretch Armstrong with all that reaching.

John Adams is throwing major **** at Butch Jones and Tennessee in the article...at least that's how I read it. This wasn't a dig at Alabama like some are reading it.
That's how I read it as well. Remember, we're just a few weeks removed from his article about UT losing so much they need to quit playing Tennessee. If you look at a lot of his articles, you'll see a very sarcastic tone when it comes to the state of all athletics at UT. Heck, he was calling for baseball firings a few weeks ago.

I swear Adams thinks he was the driving force behind sending Fulmer to the bleacher seats. He has that high of an opinion of himself.
