I didn't think O'Brien's play calling was bad. But I don't specifically remember the playcalls that led to 3 straight 3 and outs.
The 2nd half is getting underrated.
From another poster:
"
Well, we scored 10 points on 2 possessions in the 2nd half. Both of which started at our own 25. Our offense only got the ball 2 times because our defense couldn't get off the damn field.
The offense had 3 second half drives and all 3 were successful
- Florida cuts leads to 5. Offense goes on 13 play, 75 yard drive to score a TD and make it up a 12 pt game again.
- Florida cuts lead to 5 again. Offense goes on a 14 play, 64 yard drive to kick a FG and make it a 8 pt game.
- Florida cuts lead to 2. Offense gets ball back with 3:10 left in the game, gets a 1st down, forces Florida to use all their time outs and punts back to them with 4 seconds left in the game, effectively closing the door.
So, I mean, "only 10 points" sounds bad in theory, but that theory is based around the idea that we had more than 2-3 drives. The offense can't force the referee to give us the ball for more times to score."
