🏈 Suttles: Insider Report

I was expecting him to compete for a starting role on offense. I know he's a freshman, but it seems like Howard still hasn't come out of his shell. Ty and Greene are good, but they're mainly blocking TE's IMO.

As always I hope Howard finally hits his stride and performs well. If he doesn't I expect to see a steady dose of Greene as he is the best blocking TE and his pass catching has improved. Will be nice to see some of the younger guys get a chance there also. Dakota Ball had some decent routes and catches in the A-Day game.

Weird having former defensive lineman at TE's now. Greene is a big body, so I'd love to see some plays of him at F-Back and let him lead the way in the I. I just don't understand how Howard can go from a pretty good Freshman year highlighted with a great slant-and-run against LSU, to now basically invisible. I thought for sure after seeing him depressed at the loss against OSU, he would be motivated to go ape shit this year, but alas, still the same ol' reports from practice.

Don't you see this and see him thinking "I'm going to remember this and work to wreck shit next year"? Here's that shot of him:

OJ Howard might as well be a receiver. We need blockers.

Hurt and Suttles both posted last night at 9 pm that Bateman and Coker were the two that were the front runners. Both said they hesitated to type it but the info had come to them and they wanted to update Suttles earlier update. Probably need to use @crimson boz 's grain of salt here as well

This will be Howard's last season in crimson if he has the breakout year like we all seem to think he's capable of. He really regressed in 2014 to me -- probably due in some part to Coop being targeted so heavily.

I honestly thought we were looking at the next Kellen Winslow after the 50 yard TD grab where he left several Tigahs in his dust. He's really disappeared for the most part since that play.
