What a fun ride for Game 1! Execution on the offense and IGNORANT penalties were the obvious weak points in the first 3 quarters...but our Defense was kick a$$. Special teams coverage will have to get better but I recall last year we gave up some early season long returns if I remember correctly.

What's neat about this team is that its got the POTENTIAL to be DAMN GOOD! After the game I spoke with a friend and the conclusion is YES we have to make some changes and grow BUT our depth, speed, strength are huge strong points to our game. O line not nearly as 'youthful' as we feared. The more game time snaps the better they will get. Did you notice that snaps seemed at times a little 'incongruous' with what we got used to last year?? Then the fourth quarter came and the well oiled machine kicked in.....I am still concerned with RED ZONE and inability to get the TD instead of the FG! But that is something that can improve.

Our defense is sometihng to be feared by all. Figure if Vtech were an SEC team they would be along the lines of an Arkansas, Georgia (this year), Tennessee, Auburn type of program...the results we had tonight should be similar. SEC BEWARE Part II...(Remember the SI cover last year?):panic:

We will be blowing out some opponents this year more so than in the past due to the explosive nature of our offense. McElroy looked very seasoned in the 4 th quarter! The deep play to Maze with a 'decoy' to JuliOcho who was double teamed is going to give defenses who face us fits this year. I figure we will use that play at least once per game. The fun part is that you can't double up all of our receivers. The LONG BOMB gives us the ability to score quickly unlike in past seasons.

Upchurch Ingram and Grant will improve. They looked very strong at times and I like the Wild Tide! :elephant: Colin Peek has 'peaked' through and looks like another play maker! Darious Hanks looks real good too! And a HUGE ROLL DAMN TIDE to Brandon Deadrick, you are an inspiration.:td::td:

All in all I look forward to this season with Great Anticipation! Two weeks of 'cheesy poofs' (i hate cream puffs) to practice and hone in our skills will leave us hungry for some SEC BLOOD! ROLL TIDE ROLL! :td:

I agree, i think we prob. play against the best d we see all year, a lot of folks
did not like the wildcat or the pistol calls on off. but i think it slow there d
down a little, gave our young off. line time to find a rhythm. when all is said
and done it is still a W. :td:

Three of those teams VT would kill if they met face to face. Good chance they give UGA a real run for their money in the fourth game.
