Yes, 2037.

We'll call it our trivia question for the week...and if you immediately know the answer (Matt) don't answer, just bump it.

RIP Aaron Douglas. It's been a year this weekend.

I saw this on another board...don't want to give it away, but the answer kinda puts things in perspective of how things have changed since Saban showed up.

Best part is - I don't see this number doing anything but get bigger in the near future.

Yes it does put things in perspective.

--------

The number is now, 2038.

number of 1st round drafts picks Saban has put in the NFL? Ehh, maybe a tad too high for now

With the recent arrest of at other schools, i was thinking it would be days since the last Bama player was arrested (while at Bama) but then the quick math in my head showed that it would be a little over 5 and half years......How about number of days since Saban took over at Bama?

You're getting close...but no cigar.

The number is now 2042.

If that's not a hint...

Aight, it's moving by one each day. My HP-12C says that's the number of days since the 2006 Bama-Ole Miss game, which Bama won in OT. We've won an OT game since then (LSU on the road), so I'll say the last time we won in OT at home? Or perhaps the last time we came from behind to win in OT?

RTR,

Tim

Since you pulled that out, I had to double check the number I was given. And, it appears, that number was wrong. It's actually 2035 today...

And, since Tim busted me with the ol' technology thing...financial calculators be damned to hell!!!!

The last time we lost to UT was 10/21/2006.

So...it's been 2035 days since we've lost to UT.

As enjoyable as the present domination over the Viles is, we have a ways to go before we get to the longest period.

Under Coach Bryant we won 11 straight form 1971-1981. I didn't run the nimbers but that would be over 4000 days without a UT win.

Under Perkins, Curry and Stallings we did not lose from1986-1994 (there was a tie in 1993). That would be around 3300 days.

CNS, lets get that number to 4000 on the current streak.

Speaking of streaks, has Auburn ever defeated Alabama in gymnastics in thie geologic era?

I believe the meet in January was the 104th win in a row.

As to Bryant, Perkins, Curry, and Stallings...aren't you living in the past Howard? :eagerness:

I suspect this years game is going to be closer than we've had in the last few years.

When Dooley took over that program, he had a total of three starts out of his offensive line. Now, the group has a collective 99. There are over 300 starts on both sides of the ball.

I'd dare say their WR group (as in starting two) may be the most talented in the SEC. They are certainly in the top 10 in the NCAA.

That is interesting info. What do they have at RB is the question. I'll throw your own stat info back at you? (kind of) UT may have the best receiving corp in the SEC, but who is going to beat a CNS defense by throwing the ball? I remember you talking about that leading up to the ARK game last year. You have to run the ball to beat us.

Closer game ≠ beating a CNS secondary. :grinser036:

The running game is probably the biggest question mark they have. If you take their two deep with Lane and Neal you'll see last season the combination of the two barely broke 450 yards on the season. Tauren Poole is gone. Lane had the most yards of those two (350 or so) out of 12 games. Putting that in perspective—as in a comparison to our squad—Fowler had less carries (@ 25 less) and ended up with more yards on the season also playing in all our games.

I don't expect UT to make our 5th reg. season conference loss in the last four and a half years...
(it'll be 4½ when we play UT)

Isn't that some chit? Four regular season losses in the last four years?!?!?
