🏈 Sugar Bowl Possibility..........

Its a short drive for them, but I just can't see the Cougar fans showing up is large numbers to see their team face the most brutal team in America. That low turn out would be a concern for the Sugar Bowl committee, who has other choices.

PAC-12, ACC, and BIG 10 have conference championship games, and their losers have to go somewhere. Boise State and Stanford will still likely be 1-loss teams and will have to go somewhere.

Orange Bowl is locked with ACC and Big East. Rose Bowl with PAC-12 and Big 10. Bama backfills the Sugar for LSU. Fiesta backfills with Oklahoma or Kansas State. That leaves two slots open (Fiesta and Sugar).

Boise State, Stanford, Houston -- who would you pick last from this punch to attend your bowl?

What I have heard is that Boise is not in control to go to a BCS bowl. In a non Q conference, to be considered for a BCS slot you have to win your conference. Right now TCU is winning that right. Basically if Southern Miss and Houston win out and meet for the C-USA championship like it looks like they will, then the winner of that game will get the BCS slot.

Stanford is a matchup that I wouldn't mind seeing. Love to see how well Luck can throw the ball lwhile flat on his back!!

I would like to see Stanford as well although, I do think they would put up some points on us. I would love to see what Luck could do against a team such as Bama.

The Sugar Bowl used to have a tie in with the Big East winner didn't it? That would suck!!!

Doesn't the Sugar Bowl have the last pick this year? If so they will most likely be required to take the qualifying non AQ team (or Cincinnati if they win the Big East) since the other schools would take the better travelling teams.

As for Stanford I think you guys would beat them by 10-15 but it wouldn't be because Luck was on his back. Stanford's offensive line is one of the only ones in the country that would be an even match up with your defensive front. Luck would make some plays on your corners and Stanford's TE's would be able to get open vs your linebackers. Richardson, however, would run all over the Stanford defense and I doubt the Stanford offense would have the ball for much more than 20 minutes.

Boise State would also be intriguing but I think Alabama would still win by 2-3 scores.

my only solace with the loss to lsu was that we would play boise in the sugar bowl and beat their brains in and shut all the fanboys up once and for all........ but now there really isnt a matchup im interested in. i personally have no desire to see Houston or Stanford. i would rather play someone like oklahoma or oregon but that just me and i know that each bowl and a selection process and blah blah blah. what really needs to happen is a playoff and be done with it. i hate certain bowls having ties to conferences and crap. isnt money the key factor? im pretty sure a playoff would rake in more cash than meaningless bowls.and that way there would be no controversy at the end of the season. my .02

The arguement for Houston is 100% about bending to the undefeated record. Half their schedule is against "homecoming" teams. If Houston had a single loss they would struggle to be in the Top 25.

A horrible precedent. If the Boises of the world fail to impress by trying to play a respectable schedule and they see Houston be rewarded with a BCS paycheck for playing a cupcake schedule, they could easily make a schedule that virtually ensures that College Football loses a BCS slot to unworthy teams.
