💬 Steve Spurrier has joined The Alliance as head coach in Orlando.

A good example of someone who just can't walk away. His last few years at USCe showed it was time to retire. His few years in the NFL showed that he was a college coach. IMO, this round of coaching will just tarnish his reputation.

Good hire, gives them a big name to launch with and he doesn't have to recruit. How many more years of coaching does he really have to give at 72?

There were reports the last few weeks that he was getting back into coaching.

Really hope Bama gets a team. I really love almost everything Ebersol has been saying. It's very clear that this is very thought out and not some hair brained idea just slapped together (see XFL and every attempt at bringing back the USFL since the 80s).

Two thoughts. One, is he admitting he quit? Or, just admitting he did a horrible job?

How much does his story mimic that of Hayden Fox. He, like Spurrier, went from a university at the beginning and found himself coaching in a expansion professional football league--Orlando Breakers, I believe?

When Spurrier walked away from Florida he really walked away from the perfect fit. His soundbites over the years have often come across as a bad case of buyer's remorse. Getting a job in Orlando won't change those feelings, Steve.
