šŸŒŽ State of The Union Address

Okay.

I've seen a few of the responses from the Democrats which included, but wasn't limited to, a lady with adult wearing blow up costumes of animals on the stage...a guy wearing a onesy leopard print outfit bragging about being in jail while playing a harmonica...and of course, more singing.

Now, as to the speech. I have no problems or issues. It was Don being Don. He was right about "crazy." Just look above.

I'll tell you what I enjoyed the most. He was the antagonist, protagonist, and narrarator all in one.

I saw him tell the nation what he thinks and then told the nation what the Democrats think about what he thinks. Then, followed that with telling the nation what he thinks of what they think about him and his policies.

@alabama mike I want to call the address " a work of art." I don't like the phrase because there are so many interpretations. He did deliver his speech in a way only he can. I find it fascinating.

I didn't like your use of "mess" earlier. I still don't. Compared to what is likely the reason. Parliament?

Spectacle fits in my opinion. Educational? To a degree. It confirmed there are some crazy mofo's representing the US citizens (and others.)

Lastly ...

He threw a Royal Flush on the table with the question "American citizens first before all else." (sic)

Oh, one thing that "amused" me.

MSNow post on X with Psaki saying the portion of the speech talking about those who have been murdered by illegal aliens was "violent pornography." What is that supposed to mean?

A LOT more cameras.

I'd like to see split screens; multi split screens like we use for Zoom work chats. I'm guessing they could have a camera that focused on eight to ten of the elected officials so we could watch their reactions in real time.

Just as an example. Al Green got kicked out. A camera focused on his area from the start would lead to a lot of people watching.

It would be interesting to see who people look to for how to react. Is she looking at him to see if she should applaud?

I found this. I told you guys what I'd do if the singing stopped. Geez.

"Watch this now" is meant as a double entendre.

4:30 PST is what EST? 7:30.

The SOTU speech started its procession at 9:00 PM, EST.

If Kimmel starts his show at 4:30, and the address begins with its procession at 9, on what does he base his reaction to the address?

Chuckled, I did.

I still have not had a chance to read the address or watch it. Hopefully, I will be able to do that this evening.

@TerryP no problem here with you not liking the word mess. The country is a mess because the D's do everything they can to undermine or stop what Trump is trying to do for the country. Trump has done some good things, heck I voted for the man. I just have a problem with the me, me me all the time. Sometimes, less would be more from him. I guess I am just fed up with the childish behavior of both parties.

The assault on over forty years of liberal creep has the left in battle mode. In the past, Conservatives have played nice and they've lost at almost every turn, save Gingrich reining in Clinton. What I love is the way liberal papers, such as the New York Times, says Trump is rolling back clean air and car pollution standards. He is, but only from the unsustainable requirements enacted by the Biden administration to make coal, natural gas and gas autos obsolete. Stepping back from the brink of insanity, environmentally.

For the other policy changes, they aren't enough yet, and Trump isn't fiscally conservative so none of it is going to move the needle from our eventual debt crisis.

I don't know why the word doesn't sit right. I've been thinking about this and "mess" ... that's food in some senses. šŸ™ƒ

A Somalian screaming at the POTUS isn't a mess. It's something.

Its called being rude and disrespectful. Trump on the other hand is guilty of rude and disrespectful behavior at times as well. The way we treat each other sometimes is petty and childish. For the life of me, I cannot understand how we, as human beings, cannot disagree with someone's point of view and still be respectful to each other. There are posters on this site I disagree with on sports topics, politics, language, religion and a host of things but that does not mean they are not entitled to their opinion(s).

No disagreement here.

In my view a far bigger problem is found with people who are all up in arms about it and they've known who he is for decades. He's the same brash, real estate agent from Queens as he's always been. I get people who don't like his policies. A lot of the same people liked his personality before the escalator ride.

I'm trying to remember what it was that sparked the "liar" comment from MTG to Biden a few years ago. It escapse me this morning (could have told you yesterday.)
