šŸ“ āāāā IOL, William Sanders (6'3", 285 lbs) is committing this afternoon at 3 CT

We're really starting to heat up on the trail right now. Riddick is leaning heavily to Alabama right now, feel good about getting him. Could land amari Jefferson, we're looking real good on flipping Woodyard as well. And now we've seemingly flipped the script on Eddrick Houston, he was a heavy Ohio State lean, Alabama has recruited him hard, I hope we're able to finish the job and get him. We've been pretty consistent in beating out Ohio State on top recruits like these.

I was reading Ellis Robinson IV is very hush about things all of a sudden. That usually means something is happening.

What has happened with Houston? Hadn't heard anything on him and us.

I hope that's good news for us. There was a report from an Ohio St recruiting "analyst" that said Alabama has made a strong push in his recruitment, he also stated that if Bama gets him to visit for the cookout... Alabama may end up landing him. If I can find it I'll send the link.

No. He's not.

This is one of the few recruiting battles we've seen the last few years between Bama and AU. AU is in good shape here offering something Bama can't, and won't: guaranteed early playing time.

It a recruiting story we'll have to wait and watch...no clear indication one way or another but I can assure you Auburn is VERY much in the picture here.

Yeah, he is. He's taking multiple official visits to Alabama the last 2-3 months, with us getting his last official before he commits. And we've been in a ton of heated recruiting battles with Auburn the last 3-4 years. Just last year with Russaw, smith, Mitchell, and Hurley. Same with Lawson, and the list could continue. All those guys could've gone to Auburn for early playing time. That recruiting pitch usually hasn't worked in their favor when trying to get guys like these from Alabama. They're more interested in Sabans pitch.... come in, wait a year or two, win a championship, and get drafted. Auburn can promise that, but they can't back it up right now. And Auburn is very much in this battle, but Riddick is still considered to be an Alabama lean. Oh, and not that it matters(maybe it does), but he's committing on his mom's birthday. She's a huge Alabama fan, so maybe a birthday present for her?

Yesterday, 2:45 ET, I spoke with someone directly involved with this. Believe what you want. I'll stand behind what I'm saying.
Again, Auburn is very much in play for him.... I'm just confident we can beat them out for him. I don't think they're at that point right now in their program to be beating Alabama out on recruits like this right now. If they have successful seasons the next couple of years, we'll likely see them win some of these.

If Auburn is very much in play how is he leaning heavily to Alabama?

This was on TI yesterday

But, a team can be the favorite to land a recruit and still have to worry about the other school. At least "In my opinion".
In Riddick's case that team is UGA.

I like Bama's chances here. I like the way they recruit in situations just like this one: "here's what we have planned for you" versus "you'll start next season."

My point here—not a point of contention —is "heavy lean." I don't want the group here to get that impression because I don't believe it to be true. I don't post notes about these kids otherwise...know what I mean?

Any more details you can share?
:ROFLMAO: About our conversation? Sure.

The small engine place wants too much money for a tune-up today. Fishing has been good in Lake Mitchell though it's been hot. His wife had spent $200+ at the pecan/candy store. Winn-Dixie has good prices on meat this week ...

Stuff like that?

It was just a conversation with someone at CCHS...we talk a few times a month.

I’m good friends with the principal over there at CCHS, good guy that has put in his time. I may have to give him a call and see what the word is. Barn’s long-standing recruiting pitch has always been early playing time and ā€œhow we will build around youā€ and you’ll ā€œsit at BAMA your first couple of yearsā€, so why go there?

Understandable, poor choice of words in my statement.
