šŸ“” Staff additions/changes: Reports: Craig Kuligowski hired as defensive line coach

Josh Gattis Bio :: Penn State :: Official Athletic Site

It is reported on another site this guy has been targeted for the WR coach.

Would be all for this guy. We need good young recruiters who can coach. This guys has been the recruiting stud for Franklin for a few years and has done a good job. Alabama will give him better access as a recruiter to top talent. This would be a win.

My question is why Saban hasn't named a DC yet. He better promote Tosh, surround him with experience and mentor him. Kid is a beast and will be in high demand if we don't do right by him.. and even if we do

Locksley has had his own set of off field issues... Including some sexual harrassment charges that I believe were settled out of court.

Think a few things happened at UNM that got him fired.

Yet another participant for the SRP - Saban Rehab Program.

Come in, do your time, leave a changed man!!!! And make dat $.
In this thread the term "sexual harassment charges" has been misspelled used twice in conversations about Locksley.

From the original report:
It alleged age discrimination, retaliation and, according to comments attributed to Lopez's attorney, Whitney Warner, sexual harassment.
Is that not a red flag to anyone?

The term was used to classify the case by the plaintiffs attorney but no one is bothering to actually look back and see what happened there. We're seeing fans see the phrase and then use the phrase to express caution on the Locks hire.

He did tell an athletic department employee--who had been there 25 years--she wasn't of the right age to be heavily involved in the recruiting visits/contacts. It was an EEOC case, lasting four months or so, before they came to a settlement. He served a game suspension.

Yet, two years later here's the narrative:

In 2009, Locksley was served with a one-game suspension for punching one of his assistant coaches. He also was sued for sexual harassment by a former administrative assistant, though he resolved all legal claims in that matter.

The reporting is simply not accurate. Repeating it as if it is? Not fair to Locks and ...well, simply wrong.

He was fired after a poor season along with a story where a guy borrowed his sons car and ended up with a DUI. The driver said he was brought to N Mexico to play football. He wasn't a recruit and wasn't on the team. The driver was charged with aggravated DUI as I recall.

I'm a little surprised we're heading into the third season with Locks on staff and people are still telling this as if he grabbed some ladies ass.

I don't know where it stands today, but Smith from OSU has been the guy for the WR position from day one--Saban's #1 target. Tough pull from Urban and what that school has to offer.

I'm guessing here. Should our next course of action be to look and see if he's married? Gattis, that is. Remember, it's all about the wife and how she looks when it comes to recruiting...at least according to Franklin.

(Undoubtedly written while watching Robin Hood, Prince in Tights.)

Welp, the literal embodiment of imminent death has struck again.

According to a report by FootballScoop, Alabama has hired Penn State Wide Receivers coach to be their new Co-Offensive Coordinator/Wide Receivers coach.

As we all know by now, whatever Bama wants, Bama gets. Because as said above, Nick Saban and co. are the literal embodiment of imminent death that is coming for you.

Gattis is not only one of the best position coaches in the country, he’s also one of the best recruiters in the country. There’s no other way to put this, the move hurts Penn State and James Franklin will have his work cut out for him finding an adequate replacement.

Stay tuned to BSD as we’ll have more on the story as it continues to develop.

Oh, Goodbye: Josh Gattis Headed To Alabama

Eh, you did miss quote your own source

According to a plaintiff's attorney, Locksley told Sylvia Lopez she was too old to be attractive to recruits

A little different. Poor judgement at the least.

There was also this:

In September 2010, Locksley and a student reporter got into a verbal exchange at an Albuquerque bar.
Losses, lack of support cited in UNM coach firing

Again, poor judgement. Especially when you're getting your arss kicked on the field.

I don't think any of this disqualifies him... Punching the coach is a bigger issue to me... Saban may not want to publically humiliate this dude or he'll catch a knuckle sandwich.

Just pointing out he was fired after a poor on and off field record and Saban will rehab at UA as he has others.

I'm guessing the same media wasn't as nearly upset when Alabama lost some of their best onfield coaches? I'm not a conspiracist by nature but for fulmer and a few others, I do believe they have taken delight in trying to dismantle the Tide from within. Pruitt was a hit, but I'm not convinced with Saban being the mad genius you can destroy that side of the field.

On the other side of the LOS, the first half of the championship game was some of the worst play-calling I've seen. To even suggest that all the blame should be only on Jalen is to burying your noggin in the sand. Daboll's offensive imagination or lack thereof is not for college football. I think Alabama will be a much more dangerous offense for our loss.

With that little pesky detail called quotation marks missing ... not exactly quoting, eh?
Punching the coach is a bigger issue to me
Perhaps that should be an issue for Gattis to concern himself with considering it was a WR coach.

He's been in Tuscaloosa two years. This is about something that happened seven years ago. It's safe to take this whole "Saban will rehab" and put it too rest, don't ya think?

Miss quote... Leave out an important detail.... With grey area like that, ESPN should come calling!

"Saban has rehabbed Locksley" ?

"Saban will rehab.... Hugh Freeze next..."

SRP baby... Embrace and enjoy

Ha Ha, I was trying to find a way to describe what Saban does to reinvigorate and rebuild broke down coaches, but you came up with the best title. I like it, and it should cost as much as one of those Beverly Hills rehab stays celebrities pay for, especially for what you actually get in return from the one in Tuscaloosa and a rebuilt reputation that gets you a bigger gig.

I always call it The Nick Saban School For Coaches Who Don't Coach Too Good and Want to Learn Other Stuff Good Too. It doesn't quite roll off the tongue quite as easy though.

Calm down, Alex Jones. That was a Penn State SBNation blog.

When we hire off the field consultants, I know that they can't interact/coach the players, but are they in the press box during games giving info to the OC?

They can interact with coaches outside of game day and they can be in the press box, hearing what the other coaches are saying on headset, but I dont think they can actually speak to them.
