It's a 1 year show-cause for head coaching only. And a 2-game suspension, whatever the hell that's worth. Does not apply if he's a coordinator.
Under the new penalty matrix he was given a two game suspension. When the sanctions were announced, Schlabach (at least that's who I've traced it back to) tweeted he'd received a show cause. That ends up being incorrect. He has no show cause. Schlabach did correct himself some 45 minutes later but that didn't stop a ton of sites quoting him in their "reports." One of those, and wildly enough it's the first thing Google will pull up, is SECCountry.

Freeze himself received a one-year head coaching restriction but not a show-clause penalty, per ESPN's Mark Schlabach. If Freeze accepts a head coaching position before next season, he will be suspended for two games, but he will not face discipline if he serves as an assistant coach next year.

I've used, what are now common cliches, "athlete playing quarterback" versus "athletic quarterback" for years. What's a little funny here is we're also talking about a "quarterbacks coach" and a "guy who is coaching quarterbacks."
"Kiffin couldn't get it done." I can't side with you on that. Those two guys didn't win a national championship but you can't take away the SEC rings. That's getting it done in my book.

Between Wright and Marynowitz the Player Personnel department has been pretty consistent the last few years. Geez, Ponder has been there going on six years I think.

Either way. My .02 cents on the whole Blake Sims/Jalen argument. Blake had better touch and was a really good passer. I remember being at the aTm game in 2012 and Drake ran a wheel route (if memory serves me right) and Blake dropped an absolute dime for a score on the first offensive play of that game. Blake could throw a deep ball quite well. Like everyone else, I was willing to give Jalen a reprieve for last year as true freshman thrust into the spotlight and absorbing the playbook. He now has been the starter for 2 years and had an entire off season to get his passing better. He is still making the same mistakes of throwing behind receivers on crossing routes.
To me, it looks like he can't process the information he is seeing fast enough. If that is the case, he will never progress as a thrower. You can't make the throws if you can't anticipate it properly. Key example was the first TD in the Clemson (Sugar Bowl) game this year. Ridley had position on his defender and Hurts should have thrown the ball at or right before Ridley made the cut. Hurts feels pressure, pulls the ball, then pulls up and throws as Ridley drags across the endzone. All is well that ends well, but you see what I'm saying.
As far as Freeze. Saban makes lemedy million dollars a year. He has proven time and time again he knows what he is doing. If he can hire/use Freeze and it not affect his recruiting, I'm sure he will do it.

My point was that Kiffin was also limited by athletes playing QB and couldnāt utilize all the talent at his disposal. He had to adjust his play calling due to the limitations of the QB. We have seen over the past 4years that when a QB is actually playing the position...we have the more desired outcome in the playoffs/championship.
If he had done a little more eating he wouldn't have had 7 kids.. lol. Says a guy with 4.

I think you're on to something here. Never read too many stories about him out recruiting. Sure, as @alabama mike said, his ultimate goal is to be a head coach in the NFL. But with six kids, spending a lot of time on the road recruiting surely wasn't something high on his radar.
Defensive Backs coach at Ole Miss? Played at Bama, too?
You also didn't read a lot of stories about Lane recruiting, or Nuss, Mac, et. al. The OC position has never been one that's been on the road recruiting a lot.
This notion that he was unhappy with his position flies directly in the face of what he told a few just a matter of two/three weeks ago. I know of one he bragged to about how much he and his family were enjoying Tuscaloosa.
