Nice write up. I'm glad to see Jerrell getting his chance. I think it's guys like him, with his speed, that could really help us against teams like Florida. I'm loving all of the experiments that Coach Saban is trying out right now. I feel like BJ Scott is better suited for the defensive side of the ball.

Our defense should absolutely dominate this year. The biggest question mark for the upcoming season is how well we can replenish our offensive line. QB is another concern, but I feel that the OL is our chief concern.

Hopefully we can address our lack of a pass rush from last season.

Thanks for the notes and the video. Keep up that good job...

Then is Barret Jones cleared (from his injury) to work in the practices? Thanks

RTR,

Yes.

The only two held out of contact are Upchurch and Alexander.

The only other significant note, in terms of injury, isn't really an injury but recovery.

Kareem Jackson is still wearing a cast after surgery over the off-season. The only impact I can see from this is on the stat sheets which I don't pay a lot of attention to in the spring anyway. We'll see PBU's probably more often that INT's with KJ.

Darrah's passes look spot-on...they were all on the numbers and left the WR in good position to make yards after the catch.

What are the odds that he could have a great spring and become #2 or #1 going in to the fall?

The same as one, or both, of our QB's being injured in the spring or summer and not being able to play to start the fall.

They were practicing all quick routes and short passes. It's the kind of drill that you could pull people out of the stands and find a handful that would look good doing it as well.

My hope for the 2009-10 season is we can make it through it without having to take the redshirt off of AJ McCarron.

A little to add to this...not that it mattes in the grand scheme of things.

Darrah does have his fans that are on the team.

A friend of mine talked with Julio, Star and a few others this weekend when they were at his house. One thing Julio said was he really enjoyed having TD as the QB because he enjoys catching his throws.

Now, that wasn't a "I don't enjoy catching the other QB's," just a statement that goes to show we have a talented backup/walk-on.
