🧑‍🤝‍🧑 / 🏡 Spring Forward!

I am not sure. I know in Ohio, the bill has not gotten out of committee for several years.
So apparently it's called The Sunshine Protection Act of 2025 (H.R.139/S.29). It was introduced to make daylight saving time permanent. It passes the Senate, but stalls in the House.

There's a new one for 2026 to permanently move clocks forward by 30 minutes to split the difference.

Here's my whole thing.

Before the time change I could see the kids standing at the different bus stops while out in the mornings. Now, you can't.

Back in my day we went to school in the dark and got home in the dark ..... yeah it's bs.
I get seeing them but when I was in school I'd rather go in the dark and still have some daylight left when I got home. Leave it like it is now year round for me.

With mom teaching at the school I attended it was supper time, or later, when we got home after having to be there at 7. So, yah. (Why do I spend so much time outside now?)

There a thread in the archives where I mentioned this whole thing. Several years ago I mentioned the kids to the lady who runs the neighborhood meetings at one of the local churches. (Every morning that lady is at the Pig when they open. I don't know why. I've never asked. I know when she's there.)

Anywho ... as it ends up after she gets her nails into this they put in sidewalks at my street entrance. It covers two blocks and stops...happens that it's in front of my street, but that's just coincidence, I'm sure.

I live in Atlanta. Drove to Tuscaloosa later in the day on Saturday (got there about 7:30 CT). With the time change, I didn't have to change my watch. 7:30 Central = 8:30 Eastern. Move the clocks forward one hour makes 7:30 now 8:30. That's what my watch read.

Timing is everything.

No such thing as time? Was set up by humans to bring some sort of order to their lives and to also gauge and keep order to history.
Without humans, the planet would still be hurdling through space chasing after the sun. There would be no time without us to keep track of it.

Live in the moment.

Humans didn't stop the planet's trajectory and time would still exist without us. Day turns into night with or without us. Humans found a way to measure time, but it would still occur with us or without us.
